For those who wish to test for TMAU, for the TMA-N-oxide amount , in the UK direct at their own expense : The Trimethylaminuria Urine test has been added to the Medichecks site but is £285 (rather than the £199 they first said). See my blog, http://mpdela.blogspot.com/2008/09/uk-news-trimethylamine-urine-test-is.html for details.

Please note the purpose is to give people every option possible to test. You can test for this free on the NHS. With a private Dr it is around £125. Medichecks is very expensive but it gives people the option of testing on your own. Feel free to tell us or post on the forums how the Medichecks testing process went, if you want.

Hello-

I found this Earth Clinic.com website, and thought I'd share. I
apologize if the subject line is something already discussed.

http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/body_odor.html

The site has a really nice search engine if you want to do research. If
you are looking to try something new along with the low choline plan,
the above site takes you to some natural alternatives. I'm a little
hesitant with them using the word 'cure'with the page. Because as we
know we are all individuals, and what may work for some might not for
others.

Take care, peace to all-

I want to thank all the ladies that participated in last night's conference call.

We shifted our attention to expressing our need to enjoy life while attempting to manage our odor, especially in special occasions like family barbeques, weddings, and now the upcoming holidays.

Please see my post, http://mpdela.blogspot.com/2008/08/our-womens-conference-call-tonight_27.html, for further info on our discussion, and let us know what your ideas are on how to prepare for the holidays.

Thanks Jerry and Sharon. I've not been able to check my mail this week.
I like all kinds of scents and I like that they have a variety to choose from. Most people  the reviewers wanted a humidifier, not a scent machine. I'll give it a try and since I'll buy from a local store, I'll return it if there are any problems.
Mercy.

I bought a kit like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/PureAyre-Pet-Odor-Eliminator-
Kit/dp/B000ITUBJI/ref=acc_glance_hpc_ai_-2_2_tit

The black light shows where the odor causing bacteria are and the
injector lets you put the exzymes right into the source, sofa, bed or
car seat. Otherwise you can spray all you want but the odor comes back.

Read the reviews on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Homedics-BRT-150-Brethe-Air-Revitalizer/dp/B000QTUK3C/ref=\
sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1219621638&sr=8-1

Seems to me that it is just an air freshener. Biggest complaint is with
the scent. It smells like pinesol and can be overpowering. Others
described it as a scent you would find in a public restroom. A couple
said it smelled like a janitors closet blew up. But a majority of the
reviewers were happy with the scent.

Hi Mercy,

This is the first time I ever seen this. Maybe someone else here has
tried it??

I have allergies and certain scents really bother me.

1 TSP water to 1 tsp Pureayre.

Let me know what you think. I sprayed it in my mouth and it tasted
good. Still expiramenting on other ways and haven't got to the
breath yet.

Hi,

It is not a cure because only the diet will give you real relief but
this product helps when the odor is difficult and gives a temporary
solution.

Since it is made from 100% fruit and vegetable enzymes and a small
am't essential mint oil it is said to be safe enough for a mouth
wash if diluted. Due to a Propritary License they do not have to
disclose their trade ingredients but I was told it contains Papaya
and Grape enzymes as well as over 100+ others. It's enzyme breaks
the bonds of odor causing molecules inc'l amines, mercaptans ans
sulfides.

So read up on Pureayre but don't expect miracles or a cure. Just a
nice very mild mint frangrance that can be sprayed anywhere and on
anything. If you have been on the conference calls then you know
some of the areas I use it on. Bye the way I have allergies and any
flower based products like Fabreeze or Odor Ban give me respitory
problems and this does NOT!! Realy nice to spay in a room if you are
at work and no one can hear the fine spray of the small sample
bottle. Its your secret weapon.

Look for it at Petco??? Same product but has cute dog picture on
bottle. LOL!!

had an underarm skunk odor that was diagnosed as a mercaptan by a
well known researcher. In my readings I find it can be in wine and
cheese. I don't understand it but I think you may be right about the
dairy as it makes that odor worse for me. Bye the way TMAU is an
amine odor!! Here is an intersting link.

Yes.C.E.T. but I know it was a rinse that could be swallowed. I
remember because I don't think animals spit it out, at least not on
purpose!!!!

The person using it is very intellegent and has researched it other
wise I wouldn't mention it. I would compare it to the human Rx
before trying it though. There are thousands of medications for pets
that were made for humans and vise versa. Pureayre is one and it is
all natural with no flower enzymes if you have asthma or allergies.
The reason Fabreeze and others bother me is the flower enzyme or
chemicals.

I still am leary about the C.E.T. though and would like to know if
anyone has tried the prescription brand from their dentist?.

Sharon,

Are you talking about the CET toothpaste for pets? Pet stores don't sell it,I
believe you can only buy it online or in vets offices.

Hi Becky,

Yes I use it on my body. It was only after several people approved
the product before I tried it that way. One was my husband who works
with chemicals and enzymes like these. This is part of a trial but
two of us members are continuing the expiriment.

My husband talked with the owner of the company before the trial and
has been judging my odor. It is expensive and a luxury item for sure
but the mild mint fragrance seems to give me a nice feeling?? Like
finally having a scent that doesn't clash.

http://www.pureayre.com/

http://www.petco.com/product/103959/PureAyre-Odor-Eliminator-For-
Dogs.aspx

If you try it on soft surfaces like rugs, sofa and bedding that has
had the odor for awhile the spray will work for several hours and
return. You need to use an injector to get it deep into the rug or
material to rid it permanently. This applies to any similar product
you try. That is why people say it only last 6 hours or so.

If you are in a closed area with people you can spray it in the air
and the mint is so mild that people think someone put a mint in
their mouth. The small pocket bottle really makes hardly any sound.
A secret weapon that cleans the air!!

The ingredients are the same whether you buy dog, cat, baby or house
bottle.

I was also told recently that C.E.T sold in pet stores is the same
as Chlorhexidine sold as a prescription for humans by dentists for
mouth odor???

Hi
Do you use Pureayre on your body?
Becky

Same product but has cute dog picture on
bottle. LOL!!

Just an fyi...If by any chance it was the same it might not have
worked because you have to use it with the therabreath toothpaste and
mouthwash (at least that is what I read), its not a stand alone product.

I hear you on the product claims, but trying it is always worth a shot
for some... I do understand where you are coming from though.

Yes please keep me informed.

Thanks.

You probably know that Susan Tjoa, who did the test, passed away. They
hired a new person and he has begun the catching up phase.

Will try and find a number for you as the current contact number is
wrong.

HI
No, you could be right, this may be a new product and I could be
getting it confused with something else.

About 5 or more years ago we had a discussion on the bb site about a
product called K12 and quite a few members (including me) tried it
out. I remember it being a real pain using this stuff as you couldn't
brush your teeth, eat or drink for a few hours before use and a few
hours after use, so I was having to get up in the morning hours
before I normally do and didn't get any good results.

I have sent a post to the bb site asking anyone if they remember
much about the product. I'm not 100% sure that it the same stuff but
the name rings a bell and it could have been Katz that promoted it
and not Rosenberg as I first suggested.

I remember it being very expensive and not doing much good long
term. But don't let me put anyone off-it may work for you. I just
feel I should give input because there are hundreds of products out
there that claim to cure the worse ever breath odor and once they get
your money they are laughing. However, I do believe these products
work for ppl that suffer the occasional bb or bo problems but not
someone like me. All oral hygiene products I have used over the
years have never worked for me long term, the tma smell is constantly
rearing its ugly head.

I will update you on any response I get from the bb group.
