Re: [Traumatic_Brain_Injury] Re: Introduction

hi!  my name is norman  iwas hit in '83i have had a long hard road to recover too.  when people see me today they are speechless when i tell them that i have a  brain injury, much less a handicap.  i work at mcdonalds now full-time, or just enough to still receive my ssi.  i am taking some drugs that really help me and i go to other dd support groups and am involved in my tbi support group around here, and very involved in camps and all that are in my area.  everybody looks up at me because ive come so far.  i used to live in a group home that is especially designed for tbi survivors, but i live with my mother now in new bern, nc.  i am now 33, with finally having a goal in mind.
tell me more about you and you said you had questions.  maybe between the two of us we can come to a more clearer picture on things.

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I'm a newbie to this group as well.
I'm 35 and i've suffered 2 brain injuries with 2 comas and had to go
through extensive therapies.  It took me 4 years of outpatient
rehab/training for new employment etc to get back to work.  Anyways
enough about me for now, but I'd also be willing to share, discuss,
offer some adivce as to what got me through some hard times.  I came
here becuase i'm having problems in several other areas that have to
do with TBI's that i'd like more help with.

Jennifer
