Hello everyone! I am so thrilled to see a TBI group. Thank
goodness!!! We need some camaraderie. We are feeling like we are sort of ‘hanging
out there’ on our own with no direction. This is all so new to us.
Thank you ALL for being a part of this group.
I am the mother of a TBI survivor. His name is Brian and he
is 27 years old. His car accident was 3/1/08. The doctors doubted he would
come out of his vegetative state let alone walk or talk and he is walking AND
talking and pretty high functioning. He is home now with my husband and me.
Prior to his accident he had a very productive life and was always busy with
his responsibilities and is now struggling to find meaningful activities. He
has finished his PT and OT and is still having speech therapy three times a
week. We have joined a gym and he is working with a personal trainer to “bulk
up” as they say. He wants to be as fit as possible. I’m so happy
to say he is pretty “high functioning” in spite of his extensive
injuries. Any ideas for hobbies or daily activities that are meaningful?
Any thoughts, ideas or advice would be so greatly
appreciated.
Have a stellar night everyone!!
