hi guys and gals...
Since no one is talking about anything relating to surviving and coping and support- I only get spam messages- so now I'm bringing up a topic that I HOPE will spark some attention and make you guys start talking...I hope...![]()
I posted a poll for the group about alternative treatments (I hope you all check that out and respond to it)
About alternative treatments... unless the FDA can approve it and it can be taxed, it is not permitted! (Uncle Sam must have his 'cut' of everything) of course we already know this..
Do you ever wonder how people survived before medicine and science? before electricity...before indoor plumbing? lol What about third world countries? they do not have access to the facilities and medicines that we in US have, so how do they survive? TBI is global... not limited, it has no bounderies.
With that in mind, I want to share my experiences with you.
(true story...)
In July 2006, I traveled to Pakistan to visit my husbands family. While there I learned that Pakistan law is VERY different from our own, medicines are not regulated and taxed the same... My sister in law ( a homeopathic doctor) told me about the treatment of TBI in the country.
THERE IS NO DISABLED PEOPLE SURVIVING TBI IN THIS 3RD WORLD COUNTRY!! So, naturally, I thought 'what? do they just die?' but no... they are here, alive and WELL! I was wondering of course, 'how do they get well so quickly?' I found out the solution when I met with a herbologist. (now I do not know the scientific or medical lingo, so I'm telling you only what I was told yself- this comes direct from the source!)
This herbologist talked in detail about my specific brain injury type. he asked questions as any doctor will... BUT here's the shocker- HE TOLD ME my problems, BEFORE I could tell him.
he said...
'you have insomnia problems, and your mood changes quickly. you also have epilepsy an seizures' he went on and on and as I sat in shockand disbelief I thought 'who IS this guy???? how could he possibly know this about me?' Of course ANY doctor can guess... TBI statistics show that most TBI survivors have insomnia and epilepsy...and bad moods or depressed...
The BEST part was that the doctor visit only cost like $2.00 lol
But not only did he KNOW my problems, he had the SOLUTION!
I HAD insomnia and epilepsy problems... I am a firm believer that those days are gone for ever now.
he gave me 4 medicines(all together costing less than $10.00 lol) 2 I use after i wake up and 2 I use at night before I sleep.
I nolonger have rage and anger - besides the norm....
I had seizures 25 to 30 times a day, I haven't had a seizure in so long that I can't really remember the last time...
depressed for 9 1/2 years, I no longr get deeply depressed, besides normal sadness...
Where I use to sleep only 4 to 5 hours each night of restless sleep, I now sleep 8 or 9 hours of deep sleep.
My memory has increased dramatically...short term has had a marked change.
my moods are FANTASTIC![]()
I can not get these medications in the states as they are not permitted. (I am still in Pakistan until July, so I can use these only for a few months longer) But I am a witness that herbal medicines work well and I am definately a supporter of natural medicines. there are no side effects, no addictions, only cures. THE TBI CURE IS OUT THERE!!!
Anyway, so my point was, I am wondering have any of you ever tried herbal or homeopathic or another alternative treatment?? If you did, please tell us the results of your experience and what you used...
ok...that's MY support for the day... I hope many of you will respond...
