hello everyone. It's been awhile. Anyone have any good news to share
wit the group? I really would like this group to become more active
again.
I would like to pose a question and opinion to all:
question:
1. Does anyone smoke cigarettes AFTER TBI?
2. have you had any side effects ,from smoking, to your brain?(i.e. a
second TBI or stroke, more prevlant memory loss, ect?
3. Have you tried to quit smoking after TBI?
opinion:
1. What do you feel is the most successful way of quitting smoking
AFTER TBI?
2. How do you feel about smoking now?
3. How are your moods in general when you try to quit? (or are in a
place that does not permit smoking?)
I really need the help of smokers who have TBI... yes.. I smoke:( I
quit for 3 years after TBI but have now smoked for 7 years and tried
unsuccssfully to quit many thousands of times. But between TBI and
Epilepsy, my emotions and reactions are out of control anyway - throw
in a nicotine wthdraw and I become a monster- I hate MYSELF so I know
everyone htes me too. My behavior is completely psycho. I hav no
additional effects to TBI except that the chemicals and drugs go
directly to my brain and only God knows what cancer cells are growing
in there now.
please offer some advice! (and please not the dangers of smoking,
ect. I know cigarettes kill! heart disease, cancer, emphasyma, please
don't remind me! lol I really REALLY want to quit smoking to make my
new husband happy, but I am feeling it's hopeless and although he
understands me well- and TBI- Im really afraid he won't tolerate my
behavior much longer.
HELP!!
Anyway...looking forward to any advice...
