I have a rather "rare" blood type, BNeg, and I live in the North
Carolina region. In the past few weeks I have recieved several snail
mail cards from various Red Cross affiliates asking me to come give
as supplies are at a critically low level.

So, yesterday I went to give a pint o BNeg and while there and always
curious about everything imaginable, I asked the Red Crass rep just
how "critical" supplies really are.... So, he went online and showed
me...

Demand is at, near or slightly above 1600 "units" per day! And........
of all types available, the total blood supply fpr all of NC is LESS
THAN 1.5 days.....

If you of someone you know ends up needing some BNeg, or some A/B-Neg
you are pretty much out of luck right now... supplies of "universal"
OPos/ONeg were virtually dissappearing as the data base query was
being entered...There is, or was I suppose at least 1 pint of BNeg
available late yesterday afternoon

If you can, please go and give a pint whatever state/region you live
in....If your religeous beliefs prohibit you from recieving blood...
that's fine... the person who needs/gets your blood won't be offended
and you can let him/her talk to whatever version of the great creator
they subscribe to about whatever it is you're worried about when the
time comes,

For too many people, that time is a little premature and lots and
lots of folks are certainly more deserving of the second chance I and
many others have recieved than
"we" are or were.

Somebodys mom/dad/son/daughter/brother/sister/wife/husband/ friend/
lover/your neighbor needs what you have and can't get anywhere
else.... Some little kid is, somebodys love of their life id dying
for the gift that only you can give.

It doesn't really hurt and all, it might even make you feel good
about your day.

So, please put aside whatever negative feelings you might have about
the ARC and/or giving blood and take two friends and y'all go give
some.
