Healing Tourette syndrome without drugs

Sheila Rogers, MS, Director, Association for Comprehensive NeuroTherapy;
http://www.latatudes.org
Author, Natural Treatments for Tics and Tourettes: A patient and family guide

Much like autism, Tourette syndrome is a condition with environmental causes in
addition to any underlying genetic predispositions. However, the conventional
medical community has not given attention to the role of diet, nutrition,
allergens, toxic chemicals, and vaccines in this disorder. Families are
typically told that there is nothing they can do to improve or prevent symptoms
beyond reducing stress and using medications.

It is critical to discover the actual cause of a person's symptoms, not just
chalk them up to genetics or accept that they can only be treated with drugs.
Medications for Tourette syndrome and tics are notorious for their serious
side-effects, and they are not always successful.

The Association for Comprehensive NeuroTherapy (ACN) is partnering with The
Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. to present a premier conference on natural and
biomedical approaches for Tourette syndrome and tics. In addition, information
on dealing with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression will also be
shared: May 23-24 in Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas.

Visit: http://www.TouretteConference.com.
Designed for professionals, families, and patients, attendees will learn how to
identify environmental triggers for tics, OCD, and depression, and which
laboratory tests may be most useful to discover biomedical causes. A number of
non-drug approaches will be shared along with a summary of relevant research.

ACN has taken the lead in emphasizing the importance of identifying
environmental and immune issues in Tourette syndrome.
Click http://www.latitudes.org/articles/finding_triggers.htm for a discussion
and examples of environmental triggers reported to ACN and collected through
surveys.
