Hello Rama et al,

Thanks for your gentle horse's nose nudges about when you may see me at the
group again. It has been a long time yet it feels as if summertime has flown
past like a falling star. I enjoy reading the postings and keeping in touch with
you in cyber space.

Isabelle's offering to do an (EFT) workshop will be a great help to some of
the members. Emotional Freedom Technique is another good tool like deep
breathing to use in our arsenal to help with our emotions. Reading about the
techniques is not enough; a training session and practice time is required. The
technique follows Eastern medical traditions involving accupressure points in
the meridian system in the body. There is clinical evidence to support the use
of this method and many psychologists and therapists use it in their practice.

Summer is usually my time to do retreat work and to focus on internal
dialogue and writing, as opposed to widening my social circle. Yet even as I
withdraw, I find myself meeting new people and making new friends. Life is
sometimes not at all what we expect or plan.

I've loved being away up on the Bruce. It's magic to me here. I found a
gorgeous large brown and white striped falcon feather in exactly the same place
as I did last year. A remarkable coincidence; hopefully, a good omen of what is
to come. I will use them in my Reiki and Shiatsu practise to soothe and sweep
the energy around my clients.

So many talented artists of every genre on the Bruce Peninsula. I've met some
interesting authors and publishers; including Diane Madden, who collects
fascinating folklore and ghost stories and has written three books on Tales of
the Unusual, and a lawyer who wrote a new book examining the evidence in the
mysterious death of Canadian Group of Seven artist Tom Thomson.

Speaking of good books, one that I reread lately and find helpful is by Daniel
Rutley Escaping emotional entrapment: Freedom from negative thinking and
unhealthy emotions. Pax Pub., 2001. One key point from the book to remember and
correct yourself saying is: I should do this or I have to or must do that. In
reality, Rutley says, all we really have to do in life is die.

It is more helpful to say that you would prefer to do something, or it would
be better to do whatever than to should on yourself. For example; I prefer to
pay my taxes because I don't want to pay a penalty or go to jail. Shoulding on
ourselves just creates resistance in the body and may lead to procrastination or
a negative energy around whatever it is we want to do.

It will be fun to catch up with the group again in the fall.

Deep peace of mother earth to you all,
Marta
