CCT = Chronic Cryptic Tonsillitis.

It basically means your tonsils have deep pockets (crypts) in them and they get chronically infected because they are a cozy place for bacteria to live.

Welcome. This group is for sufferers of cryptic tonsils, chronic cryptic tonsillitis (CCT), and the tonsilloliths (tonsilliloths, tonsilliliths, tonsil stones, "vomit rocks", "gunk", food debris, whatever you want to call it) that get stuck in those crypts.

Share your experiences and advice with having, removing, and dealing with your troublesome tonsils and the stuff that gets caught in them.

Discuss your ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) doctor visits and the procedures you've had performed. Describe your tonsillectomies, including type of procedure performed and recovery time experience.

There is very little information on the Internet about this problem, so many of us think we're the only ones out there with these issues. The point is, you're not alone. Doctors and medical journals are beginning to recognize that this is a problem for many people and we need help. Come here for support and exchange of facts and opinions about it all.

Use the calendar to mark any tonsillectomies performed or scheduled to be performed, so we can judge how long it's been. (Please include your method of tonsillectomy if you know it.)
