Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you could help me. I finally was able to get the
doctor to fax me the ultrasound results and I would like someone's
opinion on them. Here's some background info first. I am a 22 year
old woman. I found a lump on my neck about eight months. For the
last six months I have had a persistant cough and for the last two
months I have had some pain in my neck and ear. I went to the
doctor and she ran the blood tests and they showed that my thyroid
is functioning normally and that I do not have an autoimmune
disease. I went to have an ultrasound done and here are the findings:
The right lobe of the thyroid measures 7.42x2.38x4.02cm and contains
a 4.10x2.05x3.45cm complex appearing mass. There is blood flow
within the mass. The left lobe measures 4.8x1.3x1.61cm and is
homogeneous in appearance. The isthmus measures 2.2mm in thickness.
I have a thyroid scan scheduled for January 15th to see if they can
find out more about the mass. If someone could help me understand
this I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Jennifer
