Re: [ThyroidDisease] Living With Hypothyroid in response

Hi Teresa,
My name is Laura I am 33 and had been diagnosed with hypo/ hashimotos disease
I am having a hard time with my counts too. My thyroid was removed since I was
told it was the only way they would be able to regulate my counts and all went
well for about 5yrs but I found I was getting bloated irritable tired and oh the
hot flashes, come to find out my counts were off again so we are now battling to
get them regulated. I had tried the generic pill for syn-thyroid but it did not
work at all. I now take the real deal synthriod which makes a big difference,
yes it is more expensive but worth every penny.. I also take a b12 supplement
with folic acid and that too helps but you do need to talk to your doctor and
see if it would be appropriate for you. I also take la six to keep the bloating
away.. be patient it takes time when things change or go wrong it takes time for
them to get back into normal.. Know that you are not alone with this and there
are more women out there who have
the same problem.
I hope you start feeling better soon... Are you seeing an endocrinologist??
they specialize in thyroid disorders among other things.. You might want to
explore this avenue if you have not already... I hope this has given you some
encouragment and thoughts.
Laura

Hi, am new to the sight, My name is Teresa, I have Hypothyroid and
have had for over 15 years. I was diagnosed when I was 21, that sure
answered a lot of questions about why I was so tired, fuzzy headed and
had a hard time in school and work. I take levothroxin, but it doesn't
seem to be workig for me very well any more, My levels seem to be fine,
but I know I'm not fine, I am getting more and different symtoms, hot
flashes, irritable, tired so very tired, unmotivated to do anything,
bloating. I am a good weight 126 to 130 range, I have good days and
bad days, I never know what I'm going to get. I am a healthy person, I
work out, I eat healthy foods, I have two very fun healthy children,
who are in school all day, so I can rest up. I feel like I have been
to the doctors 15 times in the last four months and I get the same
thing. Low iron, T4 looks good, colesterol a little high. Is there
anybody out there experiencing this. I would love to here your story.
Or any hints that work for You.
Thanks Teresa
