Hi everyone! Thank you for letting me join your group. I'm new at
this and need some advice.

A little history about myself & condition: I had been losing my hair
for a year and 1/2 - when I first went to the doc they did a TSH,
that was all, came back at 3.03 and they sent me on my way. After a
year and 1/2 of searching for the reason, I finally found a doc that
ran a bunch of tests and it came back that I have elevated thyroid
antibodies, diagnosing me as having Hashimoto's. Since the original
TSH had been done, it has gone from 3.03 to 4.1 to 4.71 to 4.96 to
6.11 and finally they decided to put me on meds. *whew...

OK, so my appointment is in a couple of weeks (he wants to do a scan
just because) and I want to be armed with the right information. From
what I've been reading, a T3/T4 combo seems to be the best thing. Any
suggestions?

Other than the hairloss, I really feel ok. I'm not overweight at all,
but I am depressed, but honestly (and I'm ashamed to admit this...) I
think it's because of the hair loss. I'm not a vain person, but when
you ahve a bald spot in the front of your head and you work with the
public and can't cover it up, it's kind of depressing!!!!! I do have
other symptoms when I really break it down (cold hands, tired all the
time, etc) but none that bother me as much as the hair thing.

Also, have any of you had the hairloss issue, and did it get better
when you went on the thyroid meds? I'm afraid that is my top concern.
If so, how long did it take?

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!!!!!!
