THE SCANS ARE TO DETERMINE WHETHER SHE HAS HOT NODULES OR COLD
MINE WERE COLD. WHICH MEANS NON CANCEROUS.BUT THAT IS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE.IT
IS SOMETHING TO WORRY ABOUT. THE THYROID CONTROLS EVERYTHING IN THE BODY.WHEN
ITS OFF EVERYTHING IS OFF.MOOD SWINGS BAD TEMPER FREEZING TO DEATH ONE MINUTE
AND HOT THE NEXT.IF LEFT UNTREATED IT CAN CAUSE HEART ATTACKS STROKES AND COMAS.
THE NODULES CAN GROW AND ACTUALLY CHOKE YOU TO DEATH IF YOU CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT.
IT ALMOST COST ME MINE.AN UP AND DOWN THYROID CAN CAUSE THE NODULES TO EITHER
GET BIGGER OR SMALLER.I WAS UP AND DOWN FOR TWO YEARS UNTIL I HAD IT REMOVED.
TOOK NINE HOURS TO GET IT OUT OF MY NECK. THERE ARE SO MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS
RELATED TO THYROID. TELL YOUR DAUGHTER TO HAVE THEM DO A NEEDLE BIOPSY. I WENT
THRU PURE YOU KNOW WHAT FOR TWO YEARS BEFORE I HAD MINE REMOVED.IF YOU WANT TO
KNOW MORE EMAIL ME AT

My daughter just called and her thyroid scan is set for a week from
Friday. Her bloodwork came back with all normal but the TSH is a
little high at 6.1. The doctor is also concerned that she has lost
20 pounds since September 2005. She was going to weightwatchers and
now she says she eats whatever she wants and is still losing
weight....about a pound or so a week. The doctor told her that was
not good because it means that there is something going on with the
thyroid or else it could be the medication. They increased the
Synthroyd last October. She had bloodwork done in December 2005 and
her TSH was at 2.3 which is low.....now it has rebounded at 6.1.
Does anyone understand all this better than I do?
Thank you for the replies.....Lorna
