My daughter just called and her thyroid scan is set for a week from
Friday. Her bloodwork came back with all normal but the TSH is a
little high at 6.1. The doctor is also concerned that she has lost
20 pounds since September 2005. She was going to weightwatchers and
now she says she eats whatever she wants and is still losing
weight....about a pound or so a week. The doctor told her that was
not good because it means that there is something going on with the
thyroid or else it could be the medication. They increased the
Synthroyd last October. She had bloodwork done in December 2005 and
her TSH was at 2.3 which is low.....now it has rebounded at 6.1.
Does anyone understand all this better than I do?
