I have had sinus and constipation problems, too. I went to the doctor for bad
sinus symptoms. Two things commonly keep the sinus from draining well: tobacco
smoke and dryness. Well, I stopped smoking two years ago. So, I was told that my
problem was not really one of sinus but mucus dryness; sinuses get blocked when
the mucus doesn't drain as fast as it's produced; a pool of stagnant mucus in
sinus is ripe for infection and, when a sinus gets a bacterial infection,
antibiotics can be life-saving... I had been given a treatment of antibiotics
every two or three months for 2 years ! This was my first time with this doctor.
She recommended SALINEX taking, three times a day - for a soothing effective
relief from a dry irritated nose - and NASONEX - Aquous Nasal Spray -, only in a
case of infection. In this forum, I read that dryness can be one of HYPOTHIROID
symptoms. According to my experience, this makes sens !!! When I went to the
doctor for bad sinuses, I was taking synthroid .075
and I got a blood test which said that Synthroid at .075 is too low for me. I
got a new prescription for a dose of .088. At the end of this month, I will
receive a new blood test to see if this dose is correct. My sinuses have been
going well since. I was relieved from constipation at the beginning of my taking
.088, but the problem has soon come back as before. Maybe .088 is not high
enough for me.
