Transverse Myelitis   Message List

Been busy with a young girl working on Transverse Myelitis.

I was searching and searching, and was looking through ALS, Epstein Barr Virus, Gilliam Barr - except there had been no vaccinations, Multiple Sclerosis - as lesions were the same, (She has never had any Herpes outbreaks, so that was somewhat out) She'd already had Chicken Pox, Bell's Palsy, and Shingles.... so something in this viral nervy classification was what I was looking at. Her aunt was also looking and asked us to look at the Transverse Myelitis, which fits the situation to a T.  I did a lot of research on this, and this condition with Homeopathic remedies, and on Radar and EH, and came up with information that helped a lot!

Ended up first giving Aconite, because of the speed at which it happened, then Hypericum for nerves, BiChemic Phosphates (cell salts) to support nerves, and........after much research - Lathyrus 6C. See New, Old and Forgotten Remedies: E.P. Anshutz  http://www.homeoint.org/seror/patho1900/lathyrus.htm

I have used the laser extensively; first to clear allergies to Variolinum, Lead and Aluminum, & Bisphenol A in Composite Fillings,  then the Nerve Pain 2, and #3 N/M Re-Ed on TMJ,  and the SCENAR on hands and feet after using the laser.  On her feet, she has a couple spots (one on each foot) that the SCENAR, even powered up to 250, she couldn't feel it.  But, as of last night, over all, her nerves were settling down, not degenerating further, and are beginning to heal. After working on this since Saturday, She returned to school last night,Tuesday evening, to begin classes again today, Wednesday Morning. Feeling has returned to her feet except in small spots, and hands aren't quite as numb as before. Her overall vitality and energy is returning.

I did a search on Radar's Encyclopedia Medica, for Transverse Myelitis and came up with several things, both under remedies, and under pathology.

My searches on the web were very frightening, as they basically said that this condition had low recovery rates, and sometimes leading to paralysis and death. Her two Neurologist visits had been totally inconclusive, and of no help, and time was a wasting! My main concern was catching it before incomplete Lesions become complete Lesions, and the window of opportunity to heal can become less open to healing. I thought about this, and mentally likened it to a girdled tree truck. If trunk's bark is removed on just one side, or part, it can remain alive and heal, but if girdled completely around the entire trunk, and all bark removed, it dies. From my understanding, this condition comes on suddenly, continues quickly to progress, and solidifies into paralysis quickly where most mainstream medical sites say it's permanent.  So, Time is of the Essence.

I'm fairly well pleased with progress thus far.  Too soon to call it healed yet, but progressing nicely.

20 year old healthy, unmarried girl, student

Presenting Condition:
Friday Ends of toes began tingling, and proceeded to become numb.
By Monday, Progressed to whole bottom of foot numb.

The numbness has affected balance and coordindination; muscle weakness, some spotty skin redness? Sweat has increased
She is not hungry or thirsty.  Food is unappetizing  Nausea   Stomachache aches
She says she craves HOT baths with Epsom salts, but that Hot air make her respiratory problems much worse.
The speed in which her condition deteriorated is what has concerned her and her parents. She cannot walk the college campus and cannot type. As school is in session this is a real problem.

Possible Causation:
She feels this situation began when she had a dental procedure and had composition crown.  It affected her nerves in her mouth & jaw causing severe TMJ pain. This has created severe migraine headaches.

BAD Vision. Glasses since age 10. Now wears contacts and glasses.
Good hearing
Has had several deaths in the family/friends of family since first of year.
Always very sensitive to light and noise.
Sleeps on both sides & stomach, with hands curved inward, which has historically caused hands to go to sleep.
Because of clenched jaw/TMJ problems, suggested bite guard, but she says she sleeps with mouth open and loses it.
Some Mucous in stools
Fatigue; Very Tired - Some sleep problems
Some shortness of breath. Historical Asthma/Bronchitis each year
Painful joints (scoliosis?), Stiffness
Complains of Bloating in stomach, Stomachaches
Has typical allergies
In the past, she's had bruising easily problems, and hives

Sleep Patterns:
Snores, Wakes up to urinate, Restless Sleep, Stays awake till 1 AM, Dreams actively, interesting dreams. Sleep sometimes disturbed by light and noise.

Family history with High blood pressure and diabetes

                Sometimes sad, Attentive, Grumpy, Worried
Close emotional family bonding. No divorces in immediate family.  Talks during meals, Plays games and cards with friends and family.
                LOVES Animals

BioEnergetic Treatment:
Tests to be toxic to Lead and Aluminum, Variolinum & Bisphenol A in Composite Fillings -
Cleared with laser - Because  of severity of allergy, this took several hours.
Gave Homeopathic Ledum, Staphysagria & Hypericum for Dental trauma,

Recent Medical History:
Has been to Neurologist, who doesn't have a clue.  Gave prescription for expensive meds he says is for anti-seizure conditions but should help with numbness, but hasn't helped.
