Ruby gave me a great answer, (see below), and I have been doing
my 'due dilligence' and reading everything I can find on the net
about these devices.

The DiaDens-PC connects to a computer and gives a read out of various
technical details. The DiaDens-PCM is also a hand-held device and
seems to be very comprehensive, but does NOT connect to a computer.
After reading about the results that are being documented using these
devices, I am very serious about getting one.

However, we are living on a mimimal fixed income and every dollar
counts and $650.00 to $775.00 is a lot for us. I want to make an
informed choice on any purchase and get the best value for the money
as well.

Can anybody comment on the value of having the device that connects
to the computer? It is about one hundred dollars MORE than the
DiaDens-PCM that does not connect. Would paying the extra be worth
it? Also, there are much cheaper models that can be bought on Ebay
for about $265.00, - AND there are the models that are supposedly
designed for animals/vets which seem to have the same specs. My
problem is that I don't know how to tell what the difference in power
might be.

Can anybody comment? If so, thank you for your time and
