Re: [Therapeutic-Laser_Therapy] Re: new laser

Hi Kathlee,

It is possible to have "side effects" from Laser therapy, and for the majority of patients (eg 95%) these are minor and usually only occur in chronic patients after their first treatment. Effects may include tiredness, an increase in pain levels, or just a slight "fatigued" feeling. These effects may last from 4 to 12 hours.

The same patient will generally report a positive outcome within 24 hours. Following treatments rarely have any further "reaction" in the negative sense.

The majority of Class 3B Lasers used in serious Laser Therapy are in the range of 100mw to 500mw near infrared systems. They do not ablate tissue or cause damage, due to the correct focussing of the Laser beam to keep the Power Density within safe limits. These limits are well documented in all International Laser Safety Standards.

The higher power systems eg 500mw, or we use up to 10 Watts only provide deeper penetration into the tissue, which is required to reach the "target" area in say musculo-skeletal injuries.

The visible red Lasers we all see being used eg 5mw Laser pointers etc will not do any damage to the eye, as this wavelength does not focuss onto the retina. Infrared wavelengths do focuss onto the retina, and can cause damage. Hence with all infrared therapy systems (Lasers or todays higher powered LED's) do not look into the beam, use Laser safety glasses, and prevent un-authorised use by anyone other than the trained operator or owner.

I have also used Lasers utilising the Rife frequencies with some very interesting results.

As a last comment, I totally disagree with the comments in the letter that Jennifer posted. Laser has been in use for some 25 years and no where in the research or clinical trials etc has this type of comment/information been raised let alone proven.

It is a class 3b laser.  It is infrared and beyond the visible
wavelenghts.  It does have a blue laser light focused to the same
point as the 910 nm laser for aiming and safety purposes.

It can be programmed from 10,000 to 50,000 mhz and modulated 0-100%
of it's average power output of 250 mW.

I cant believe how well it is working so far.  Immediate results.  I
never had that with the lower powered 100 mW 785 nm unit I first
used a few months ago.
