This group offers support to members of Overeaters Anonymous who define their abstinence using a non-diet approach to eating. The basic food plan is to eat when hungry and stop when satisfied. No particular foods are restricted. This normal relationship with food emerges as we learn to cope with and address the issues in our lives which cause us to use food compulsively. As we work the 12 Steps to recovery, we have a spiritual awakening which restores us to sanity with food.
This group does not endorse, nor is it affiliated with any specific non-diet approach program, literature, or website. However, in the links and files sections of our site, you can find sources of information to learn more about non-diet approaches. Any member on unmoderated status (given after their first post) may add sources to these links and files. If you are interested in having a sponsor who will support you in a non-diet food plan, there is a list of available sponsors and their biographies in our files section.
