The Long Hair Loom - November 17, 2003

Are you thankful for all the things you have? November puts us in a mindset of thinking of all the things we have to be thankful for. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so I want to wish each of you a very wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I am so thankful for all of you who contribute to the support of the Loom, through your posts, emails, and even for those who just sit back quietly and read!

So many of us have the "grass is always greener" syndrome when it comes to our own hair. If we have curls, we admire the fall of straight hair! If we have straight hair we long for curls! While there are certainly ways to create a different look, constant use of certain products like heated styling tools, perms, and straighteners can cause long term damage. What is important for each of us, is that we learn to love our own hair, just the way it is. Try to think of the positive aspects of your own hair, and learn to really appreciate it! It doesn't mean that you'll stop admiring hair of another type, but that you will also appreciate what you do have!

Be sure to read our two new articles: "CWC: A hair care method." This is a great article for those new to CWC, and still a great read for those of us who use it regularly!

You will also find a brand new interview at the top of the library list. An "Interview with henna expert, Maureen Jones of Everyday Mehndi." Maureen Jones is an extremely intelligent lady that you will love learning from. This information packed interview tells you all you need to know if you've ever entertained the idea of using henna on your hair. What is henna? Can I use henna on color treated hair? Is Black Henna safe? These questions and more are answered in our wonderful interview with Maureen. Maureen also is offering a discount for those who order henna from her site after reading the article. The Long Hair Loom special discount code is also found in this library article.

We have some new hair styles listed in the Styling Station. Be sure to check out our new styles which include "The Basic Cinnamon Bun,"  Hoshi's Star Trek Enterprise style, The Chinese Bun, and some cute party styles like, "Cat Ears and Spider Legs."  If you missed seeing the Draped Braid and French Twirl, be sure to take a peek!

Our hearts and prayers go out to some of the ladies on our board.

To Skeeter, who was so sick with a virus that she ended up having to go to the hospital. We hope you continue to get stronger each day. We miss you when you are away!

To Grace, who's home burned to the ground in the terribly devastating California fires. We are so thankful that above all else, you and your family were spared. Let us know if we can be of any help to you!

To Balleryna: My prayers are with you through your medical treatment and continued care. I hope you will be encouraged daily, simply by knowing that so many care.

Best wishes to Anne and Gold Lady who started new hair accessory businesses! Congratulations ladies!  Their links will soon be added to the library links section.

Thanks again to each of you, for making the Loom such a special place. I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to get to know you.  For you I am truly thankful! If I can be of any help to you, please let me know!

Long may you grow!
Fox
