A new and very private Internet support group has been created to assist those with HIV who are either seeking transplantation, on the UNOS waiting list for a transplant or have received a transplant. The purpose of the site is to have an open forum for discussion, questions, answers and general support of each other during the transplant journey. To provide confidentiality for our members, this site is not open to the general public and is NOT advertised on the Internet like most other Yahoo groups. Non-members do not have access to discussions on this group. Members of this group do not have access to the membership database.

Since most ISPs allow their subscribers to use a limited number of additional IDs, if you wish, you can set up a non-identifying ID on your ISP to use for this group. Be sure to use a non-identifying "display name" too. You can also set up a free mail account on www.Yahoomail.com or www.hotmail.com.

For the protection of our memebrs against viruses, attachments are not allowed, but you can paste an article into the body of your message or include a link to the article.

You may share the group's email address, TX_Support_Group-subscribe@yahoogroups.com with others who are also HIV+ and seeking a transplant, on the waiting list for a transplant or have received a transplant while HIV+. Any new person seeking membership must give a brief summary of their situation before they are admitted to the group. Again, this is a private group and this is another step to maintain your confidentiality. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible in asking questions that are important to you and to share your experiences with other members in order to help each other through the pre- and post-transplant journey.
