Welcome to this online peer support group, made possible by the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS).
TAPS is a national, non-profit, Veterans Service organization offering immediate and long-term emotional help, hope, and healing to anyone grieving the death of a loved one in military service to America, regardless of their relationship to the deceased or the circumstance of the death.
This group is focused for those who have experienced the death of a loved one by suicide to connect with others sharing similar loss. Through this forum, survivors can find understanding and gain strength in knowing they are not alone in their grief.
Membership to this group must be approved. With the exception of TAPS staff, we do not knowingly permit access to anyone other than those who have experienced the death of a loved one in service. Anyone who misrepresents their status as a bereaved person will be removed.
The support we offer here is peer-based, and is not intended as a substitute for medical advice or treatment by a medical professional or clinical counselor. Any information pertaining to your health should be reviewed with your physician. Services like the TAPS Online Community should be used along with your family and friends to form a strong support system. TAPS is here for you, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you feel you need to speak with someone urgently, please contact us at 1-800-959-8277.
In this group, and in all of the TAPS Online Community forums, we join together; survivors reaching out to survivors, in a spirit of compassion, understanding, and hope. Together we Remember the Love, Celebrate the Life, and Share the Journey.
