We, in India, are pleasantly surprised to read your news item, "Televised spirituality sells to jaded souls" of July 11, 2006 on Swami Ramdev.
His Holiness Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj of India is starting his one & half month tour of UK, USA, Japan, Pakistan etc. with his arrival today in UK, where he shall conduct four Yoga Science camps, which are fully booked in advance.
He has been adjudged the most loved & respected Indian, in Pakistan, India's hostile neighbour, in a survey there a couple of months back.
He has won millions of hearts in India, by curing them of their so called diseases, by his Yoga Pranayama (Berating Techniques) regimen, since last 4-5 years, by his week long Yoga Science Camps, in almost all the big cities of India, which were televised on different TV Channels, for a total of more than 4 hours daily throughout this entire period. Maybe a record to get into the Guinness Book of Records. Billions in India are keeping fit & fine, by following his Yoga Pranayama regimen daily. The sale of medicines has gone down substantially here in India. He is the most success storey ever in India.
Before leaving New Delhi for UK, he declared that he is going overseas as per the ancient Indian scripts, declaring, "World is my family". He has undertaken the sacred vow to cure the entire humankind with his Yoga Pranayama regimen, based on ancient Indian science of Yoga, which he has researched deeply.
He is expected to meet the H E the Queen & H E the PM, besides may other leaders in UK.
Details on his works in India on Yoga Pranayama are available at www.YogaPranayama.com for all to know better.
Expecting to read more on him in your esteemed paper during his stay in UK. Keep it up.
Subject: I quite agree with the idea that one should have the DVDs, Books & Magazines by Swami Ramdev & start doing it immediately, instead of waiting for hi visit to one's country.
I quite agree with the idea that one should have the DVDs, Books & Magazines by Swami Ramdev & start doing it immediately, instead of waiting for hi visit to one's country.
I am planning to attend his camp in USA and I have placed my order on-line for his DVD, Books & Magazine, to be better prepared to attend such camp. Better be prepared in advance. The modern media has brought his works to the reach of common people by way of DVDs, VCDs, Books & Magazines by Swami Ramdev.
Donor Passes are going to cost around the same, in USA as in UK, say around $ 1000 USD, which is much less than Donor Passes by other Yoga Masters. I quite agree that it is for the first time Swami Ramdev is coming overseas to teach us directly. He is most loved & respected Indian, overseas. His visits shall be roaring success. We eagerly await his plans, which I trust shall be announced to this group.
Yoga is a complete disciplining routine, involving all kinds of physical and meditative exercises. It uses a wide combination of breathing and movements to get the body back into its targeted range. Yoga is centred on meditation and the asanas (postures) that are done, are done to allow for better concentration and better meditation abilities.
The first step to performing yoga is to still and calm the mind, hence achieving the strengthening of one's body and mind. If the mind can be stilled, the spiritual power can be felt within. Meditation is the state achieved from intense concentration on a single object until all other thoughts vanish and all that is left is an intense awareness of the object. There is nothing else in mind for some time.
Even though yoga has been around for over 5000 years in India, it was relatively unknown till sometime back. It has gained prominence only during recent times. It is estimated that millions of people are practicing yoga in the US and UK. Slowly people are realizing that it could be the single solution for most of the prevalent ills in the modern age. Stress, blood pressure, heart attack, diabetes are the various ailments caused due to our busy life. Yoga has a cure for all of them.
The discipline of yoga has been rejuvenated in modern times. Numerous people have been responsible for this increased awareness of yoga, mainly those who have benefited from it. The primary factor responsible for the rejuvenation in India, the land of its birth, has been Swami Ramdev. Swami Ramdev started relentless efforts to popularize Yoga in 1995 and began his yoga programs in India on television in 2002. He says that through Pranayama (the breathing in of life), the yogic practice of breath control can cure even 'incurable diseases'. Pranayama helps the body to become a lot more flexible and fitter.
There has been no following larger than that of Swami Ramdev in the recent times. Today, he is one of the biggest draws on Indian television. His programs are followed by millions of people around the country religiously. He believes that all ills can be cured by avoiding medicines, active practice of yoga and simple dietary habits. Yoga along with ayurveda (treatment using herbs) is capable of curing even diseases which are usually not possible to cure using traditional medicines. He strives for a 'medicine-free' world for the whole of humanity. His teachings are open to people from all walks of life and from all parts of the world. People have greatly benefited from his week-long camps organized for the needy. People from all religions, young and old, rich, poor, educated and illiterate - each finds a place there. He lays down simple guidelines, which can be followed easily.
His practical approach to Yoga has won him millions of followers throughout India. People have begun to see yoga in a new light, a totally rejuvenated yoga. Other than curing of illnesses and the telecast of his programs on TV, the primary reason for the rejuvenated yoga is the easy manner in which it is presented now. In other words, quick benefits with minimal efforts.
Yoga, with its new presentation, has helped people in developing healthy habits by waking up early in the morning, followed by energizing yoga practice, thanks to TV channels and Swami Ramdev. Technology has contributed immensely to the popularity of yoga. This great phenomenon of enlightening the people has been possible only due to TV, which has taken yoga to the common public. Had it not been so, yoga would have been still at the same place, where it was centuries ago.
thanks for your frank views. we value your feedback.
But you shall agree, as already suggested by us, one can get the same benefits of learning & practicing the Yoga Pranayama of Swami Ramdev with the help of his 1 DVD & 2 Books on Yoga Pranayama.
We still recommend, "If it is not convenient for some people to attend such "Yog Science Camps" for any reason; such people have an easy & cheapest alternative to learn at home the "Yog Science" complete package with the help of the 1 DVD & 2 Books on Yoga Pranayama by Swami Ramdev, which are available on-line from www.YogaPranayama.com .

An overview of Pranayama techniques taught by his Holiness Swami Ramdev Maharaj
The philosophy of Yoga is centred around achieving complete harmony between our body and mind through special exercise (posturing), breathing and meditation. The aim of Yoga is to live a healthy living and attain self-enlightenment. Yoga means to yoke (to unite) with the source of our Being. In Yoga through practices of holding a variety of body positions or asanas, and the centring of the mind and breath in a meditative way, the practitioner increases body awareness, posture, flexibility of body and mind and calmness of spirit. To achieve this an individual has to gain complete control over 'prana' . Prana is the subtle force , the essence which pervades all life . The objective of Pranayama is to attain complete control of the Prana .It is the breathing process or the control of the motion of inhalation, exhalation and the retention of vital energy.
Baba Ramdev Maharaj ji a Yoga and Ayurved master, who has become very popular in India, and has popularized yoga among millions of his followers. He established his Yoga Mandir Trust in 1995 in Haridwar and began activities in health and spiritual pursuits and has cured many incurable diseases since then. Now thousands of people everyday attend his Yoga camps.Yoga was always there, but he has given a new birth to it by bringing it to public and benefiting people with it. He has helped Yoga become so popular among common man. He has done so by curing many incurable diseases. He is responsible for a revolution in Yoga and health.
He believes that "the Aryavrat desh(ancient India) will again become vishva guru (world leader) through yoga". He dreams of a disease free India and World (rog mukt bharat aur vishva).
A few of Pranayama exercises that Swami Ramdev recommends for everyday practice are :

Select a clean and peaceful place for doing Pranayama. If possible, choose a place near a clean pond or river.
As there is a lot of pollution in the cities, some kind of incense can be lit like Guggulu and purified butter, to create a clean environment at that place, igniting a lamp with purified butter only, can also serve the purpose.
Sit either in any of the Asanas, viz. Padmasana, Sidhasana or Vajrasana, which ever you find convenient. The sheet or cloth (cotton or wool etc.) on which you sit must be a non-conductor of electricity.
Breathe only through the nose, because by doing so the air which you take in, is filtered. During daytime when you are not sitting for the performance of Pranayama make it a habit to do respire only through nose and not through mouth. Nasal respiration keeps the temperature of the Nadis (Vessels) –'Ida',Pingala and 'susmana' even. It also prevents foreign and harmful objects from getting into lungs.
Like ‘Yog’, Pranayama should also be performed four or five hours after taking food. In the morning Pranayama should be done after finishing daily routine acts like cleansing mouth, emptying of bowels etc., it should also be done before Yogsana. In the beginning Pranayama should be done for five or ten minutes gradually the time may be increased up to about 1/2 or 1 hour. Maintain a specific number of repetitions and do not variate. Maintain a specific rhythm. If it is not possible to clean the bowels by morning, at night take some mild laxative like terminalia chebula (Indian Hardaya) or any other mild laxative (a non habit forming medicinal herb having a laxative effect). Kapala-bhati Pranayama, if done regularly for a few days will help in curing constipation.
Keep your mind calm and composed. However, Pranayama can also calm down the disturbed mind and keep one happy.
Methods of Pranayama may be varied according to the seasons and your own physical make up and mental attitude. Keep this in mind and modulate the method accordingly. Some Pranayama increase the body temperature, whereas, some bring it down. Some Pranayama maintain the temperature at the normal level.
If you feel fatigued in the course of doing Pranayama , rest for sometime and then begin deep breathing, which will remove the fatigue.
Pregnant women, hungry persons, persons suffering from fever and those who are lustful having no control on their passions should not do Pranayama . If you are sick, keep in mind the instructions to be followed by sick persons while during Pranayama.
For prolonged exercises of Pranayama, observance of celibacy is necessary. Besides, food should be simple not containing irritating spices. It should be ‘Sattvika’ – (Plain and simple, non-spicy food). Use of cow’s milk, ghee (clarified butter), fruits and green vegetables can be said to be ideal food. Moderation also is a good rule to observe.
Do not strain yourself while doing ‘Kumbhak’ i.e. retaining the breathed air inside or keeping the air out after exhaling (Breathing in is called ‘puraka’, retaining the breathed air in is called ‘Kumbhak’ and exhaling the air is called ‘Recak').
Pranayama does not mean just breathing in, keeping the breathed air in and exhaling it. It also means establishing control on the entire breathing process, and maintaining mental equilibrium, and concentration of mind.
It is beneficial to chant the mantra (a group of words that carry vibrations and energy) Om (the first cosmic soundless sound), aloud and repeat the same several times before doing Pranayama. Even recital of sacred songs in the praise of almighty God or recital of some sacred hymns may be beneficial. This will calm your mind and make you fit for Pranayama, because a peaceful mind is very essential while doing Pranayama . Mental or loud recitation of Gayatri Mantra (considered as one of the greatest mantra, used in meditation and also for chanting) or any other sacred hymn brings spiritual benefits to the Sadhaka.
See that while doing Pranayama , none of your organs such as mouth, eyes, nose, etc. feels any strain and it should be done gradually without any undue stress or strain. All the organs of the body should be kept in normal condition. While doing Pranayama sit in an erect posture. Keep your spine and neck straight. This is essential for reaping the full benefit of Pranayama .
If possible Pranayama should be done after your usual morning functions like cleansing of mouth, evacuation of bowels, bathing etc. However, if it becomes necessary for you to take bath after Pranayama , keep an interval of about 15 to 20 minutes between Pranayama and bathing. For acquiring proficiency in Pranayama do not depend on books or what is done and preached by others. Seek the guidance of an expert and do Pranayama under his direct supervision.
Different treatise advocating or dealing with the subject of Pranayama describe several methods and each of them has its own importance. However, it is not possible for most people to do all these exercises daily. Hence, with the blessings of our teachers and in view of our experience, we have evolved seven methods of Pranayama , which incorporate into themselves, almost all the peculiarities of Pranayama rendering them scientific and useful from a spiritual point of view. All these seven types of Pranayama can be done, as a routine and in a time bound programme of about 20 minutes. The person who does these exercises daily and regularly can attain following benefits which are briefly described as under:
All the three Doshas (Humors) - Vata , pitta and Kapha get adjusted in proper proportion and abnormalities in them are removed.
Digestive system improves and diseases pertaining to digestive organs are cured.
Diseases pertaining to lungs, heart and brain are also cured.
Obesity, Diabetes, Cholesterol, Constipation, Flatulence, Acidity, Respiratory troubles, Allergy, Migraine, High blood pressure, diseases pertaining to kidneys, sexual disorders of males and females etc. are also cured.
Resistance against diseases is stepped up. Immunity develops.

These Pranayams are extracted from teachings of Swami Ramdev ji. The information contained in this document is not enough for you to get started with Pranayama. We recommend you to buy his DVDs, Magazines, Books and VCDs from www.YogaPranayama.com for complete guidance. You can also watch Swami Ramdev ji's programs broadcasted on TV Channels. Shiva Sankalpa (Vow) at the time of performing Bhastrika:
While inhaling in the process of doing Bhastrika make a vow and focus in your mind as if all the divine powers, purity, peace and joy, all that is good in the universe around you is entering inside your body and that you are getting filled with the divine powers. Pranayama done with this kind of vow in mind imparts a special benefit to the individual.
Special Notes:
Those suffering from high blood pressure or from any heart disease should not do this Pranayama.
While breathing in the abdominal area should not blow up. You have to fill the air in the chest area, i.e. up to diaphragm, so that the part of the chest with its ribs swells.
In summer season, reduce the number of repititions of this Pranayama.
One must do this Pranayama for the duration of three to five minutes every day.
Incase both the nostrils do not open on account of ailments like severe cough or sinus etc., for such persons they should first close the right nostril and do respiration (exhalation as well as inhalation) through the left nostril. Then the left nostril should be closed and respiration should be done by the right nostril. This method of alternate breathing should be continued at the desired speed viz. slow, moderate or fast, till both the nostrils open simultaneously. Then at the end Pranayama should be completed by doing Recak and Pruaka through both Ida and Pingala.
While doing this Pranayama keep both the eyes closed and mentally chant the mantra “OM” throughout the exercise of Pranayama.
Benefits:
Diseases like cold, cough, allergy, asthma, respiratory diseases of all kinds, are cured. Lungs become strong and due to the heart and head getting adequate quantity of pure and fresh air, health is improved. Diseases of the throat like thyroid, tonsils and other ailments of throat are cured.
This Pranayama brings about a proper balance of the three Doshas i.e. Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and maintains their balance. Blood is purified and the body gets rid of foreign objects and toxins.
Stabilizes Prana and calms mind, and helps the upward journey
Stabilizes Prana and calms mind and helps the upward journey of Prana from Muladhara Chakra (Base Chakra) to Sahsrar Chakra(Cerebral Gland) and helpful in the Kundalini Jagran.

Pranayama has the capacity of freeing the mind from untruthfulness, ignorance and all other painful and unpleasant experiences of the body and mind; and when the mind becomes clean it becomes easy for the Sadhaka to concentrate on the desired object and it becomes possible for him to progress further in the direction of Dhyana and Samadhi.
By Yog asanas, we remove the distortions and disabilities of the physical body and bring it into discipline. However Pranayama influences the subtle and the physical bodies in a greater measure than Yogsanas do and that too in a perceptible manner. In the human body, lungs, heart and brain hold very important positions and they depend on each other heavily for their health.
Physically, Pranayam appears to be a systematic exercise of respiration, which makes the lungs stronger, improves blood circulation, makes the man healthier and bestows upon him the boon of a long life. Physiology teaches us that the air (Prana) we breathe in fills our lungs, spreads in the entire body, providing it with essential form the body, take them to the heart and then to the lungs, which throws the useless material like carbon dioxide out of the body through the act of exhalation. If this action of the respiratory system is done regularly and efficiently, lungs become stronger and blood becomes pure.
However, most of the people do not ha ve the habit of breathing deeply with the result that only one-fourth part of the lungs is brought into action and 75 percent remains idle. Like the honeycomb, lungs are made of about 73 million cells, comparable to a sponge in their making. On normal breathing, to which we all are accustomed, only about 20 million pores in the lungs get oxygen, whereas remaining 53 million pores remain deprived of the benefit, with the result that they get contaminated by several diseases like tuberculosis, respiratory diseases and several ailments like coughing, bronchitis etc.
In this way, the inefficient functioning of the lungs affects the process of blood purification. Heart weakens because of this with a constant possibility of untimely death. It is for this reason that the importance of Pranayama has come to be recognised, for a healthy long life. Several diseases can be averted by regular practice of Pranayama.Hence, it is obvious that the knowledge of the science of Pranayama and its regular practice enables a man to lead a healthy and long life. It is for this reason that in several Hindu religious rites, Pranayama is found to have been introduced as an essential element.
Mental disturbances like excitement, anxiety, fear, anger, disappointment, lust for sex (lasciviousness) and other mental perversions can be calmed down by regular practice of Pranayama. Besides, Pranayama practice improves the functions of the brain cells with the result that memory and the faculty of discrimination and observation improves, making it easy for the Sadhaka to perform concentration and meditation.
Another benefit of Pranayama is that by its regular practice, habit of deep breathing is developed which results in several health benefits. It is said that the nature determines our life span on the basis of the number of respirations we do. Man gets the next birth in accordance with his karmas (deeds) done in the present life.
Our karmas (deeds) result in the formation of certain tendencies, which determine the nature of our next birth either as humans or as animals of various categories. A man, who regularly performs Pranayama, is required to take lesser number of breaths and therefore lives longer.

Pujya Shri Baba Ramdev Maharaj ji is a renouned Yoga and Ayurved guru. He is is well-versed in Sanskrit Grammar, Ayurveda and Vedic Philosophy. His practical approach to Yoga has won him millions of followers throughout India.
Swami Ramdev was born as Ramkishan in a very humble family of a farmer in Narnaul village at Alipur, in Mahendragarh district of Haryana. Two and half months after he was born half of his body was paralysed but he recovered. He escaped death about seven times.
He studied in his Narnaul village school till 5th. He studied up to Class 8 in nearby village Shahjadpur and then joined a gurukul in Khanpur village to learn Sanskrit. From there he went to Jind district and joined the Kalva gurukul under Acharya Baldev ji Maharaj and later imparted free Yoga training to villagers across Haryana. It is said that he travelled the Himalayas for several years before he settled in Haridwar. He spent a considerable amount of time in the caves of Gangotri. He discovered several medicinal plants in the Himalayas which he uses in treating his patients, apart from reeking the benefits of cow’s urine and manure.
Swami Ramdev started relentless efforts to popularise Yoga in 1995 with the esteblishment of Divya Yoga Mandir Trust, along with Acharya Karamveer and Acharya Balkrishna. While Karamveer is well-versed in Yoga and the Vedas, Balkrishna is a physician with a degree in Ayurveda. Ramdev became the president of the trust, Karamveer the deputy president and Balkrishna the general secretary. The objective of the trust was to reach Yoga in every part of the country and cure as many patients as possible. With this he began activities in health and spiritual pursuits and has cured many incurable diseases since then.
Now thousands of people everyday attend his Yoga camps. And many are following him in Yoga through TV channels and Videos. Swamiji has given a new birth to Yoga by bringing it to public and benefiting people with it. He has helped Yoga become popular among common man. He has done so by curing many incurable diseases. He is responsible for a revolution in Yoga and health.
Guru Ramdev has planned a Rs 100-crore dream project, Yog Peeth, at Bahadrabad, about 20km from Haridwar, Uttar Anchal, India. According to him, "It will catapult Yoga and Ayurveda to its zenith, and lead to mental, spiritual and physical development of people". To be completed in three years, it is an ambitious project with a Yoga university, a naturopathy department which can handle 1,000 patients at a time, a residential complex for patients, a hall for 5,000 people to practise Yoga and the world’s largest hospital ward to treat 5,000 patients a day.
Swamiji believes that "yog se yeh Aaryavrat desh punah Vishva guru ke garimamay pad par pratishthit hoga" ( India will again become world leader through Yoga ). He dreams of a "rog mukt Bharat Varsh aur Vishva" ( Disease free India and World ).

A short answer is that Yog and Pranayam makes you feel better. Practicing the postures, breathing exercises & meditation heals the body, mind and spirit. Yog and pranayam lets you tune in, chill out, shape up all at the same time.
For many people, that’s enough of an answer. But there's more if you are interested.
For starters, Yog and Pranayam are good for all ailments. Research shows that Yog and Pranayam help control Anxiety, Arthritis, Back ache, Blood Pressure, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Chronic fatigue, Depression, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Headaches, Heart diseases.
What Yog and Pranayam can do for you?
The Physical benefits:
Creates a toned, flexible and strong body. Improves respiration, energy and vitality. Helps to maintain a balanced metabolism. Promotes cardio and circulatory health. Relieves pain, helps you look and feel younger. Improves athletic performance.
The Mental benefits:
Helps you relax and handle stressful situations easily. Teaches you to quieten the mind so you can focus your energies where you want it to go, on a difficult yog aasan, on the tennis court or golf course, or in the office. Encourages positive thoughts and self acceptance.
The spiritual benefits:
Builds awareness of the body, feelings, the world around and the needs of others. Promotes the interdependence between mind, body and spirit. Helps you live the concept of “oneness”.
Other benefits of Yog and Pranayam
The most important benefit of Yog and Pranayam is physical and mental therapy. The ageing process, which is largely an artificial condition caused mainly by auto-intoxication or self-poisoning, can be slowed down by practicing yog. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated, we can significantly reduce the catabolic process of cell deterioration to get the maximum benefits of Yog. One has to combine the practices of YOG AASANS, PRANAYAM AND MEDITATION.
Regular practice of Yog Asanas, Pranayam and Meditation can help cure diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins and heart conditions. Laboratory tests have proved the yogi’s increased abilities of consciously controlling autonomic or involuntary functions such as temperature, heartbeats, and blood pressure. Research into the effects of yogic practices on HIV is currently underway.
Why are Yog and Pranayam successful?
According to medical scientists, Yog and Pranayam therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems which directly influences all the other systems and organs of the body. Yog acts both as a curative and preventive therapy.
The very essence of Yog and Pranayam lies in attaining mental peace, improved concentration powers, a relaxed state of living and harmony in relationships. Through the practice of Yog and Pranayam we become aware of the interconnectedness between our emotional, mental, and physical levels. Gradually this awareness leads to an understanding of more subtle areas of existence. The ultimate goal of Yog and Pranayam is to make it possible to fuse together the gross material (Annamaya), physical (Pranamaya), mental (Manomaya), intellectual (Vigyanamaya) and spiritual (Anandamaya) levels with beings.

I was a diabetic. I could not participate in your camp but watched your program on Indian TV Channel and have been practicing Yog and pranayam for the last one year. It cured my disease. Presently my sugar level is normal. Two years back the fasting sugar level was 150 and PP sugar level was 195, which is now 75 and 116 respectively from the day I started practicing Yog and pranayam. Now my whole family (my wife, two sons and one daughter) practice Yog regularly. I have taught Yog and pranayam to at least 25 to 30 Nm people and they are getting good results. Yog and pranayam are curing some peculiar diseases, where the Ayuvedic Products failed to show results. People are worshipping you like God. We thank you a million times.
Yours truly, Dr. V. S. Jadhavner SIDCO Ram - 2, Plot No: 61 my Aurangabad - 431003 (Maharashtra), India
I was suffering with diabetes for the last one year. The results showed 398 mg sugar level and after medication it came down to 376mg. I have been watching your program on Indian TV channel since July 2005 and practicing kapalbhati, anulom-vilom, brahmari, mandookasan, markatasan and other yogic exercises. I have discontinued the Ayuvedic Products completely. Today my sugar level is 177 mg, I thank you a million times.
Please accept my felicitations for establishing Yog culture in the entire country. I am a devotee of music. I feel young and courageous like the youth at the age of 78 with the practice of Yog and simple life style. Yog Sandesh is a divine magazine. It provides information about different diseases on the one hand and changes the attitude of the people and conserves our age-old traditions on the other. I strongly believe that Patanjali Yogpith would become the main centre of Yog and Ayurved in the entire world in the near future.
Yours truly, Pt. Ramashray Jha (Raag Rishi) Sangeeta Ratna (Ramrang), Former President music and fine arts, Allahabad University B- 557, B.H.S, Bhardwajpuram, Allahabad (U.P), India
I was practicing bhastrika, kapalbhati, anulom- vilom and udgeet pranayam. However I discontinued bhastrika pranayam due to severe chest pain for the last four months. I am practicing other pranayam regularly. I was suffering with severe mental trauma for the past 25 years, which led to insomnia, tension, disinterest in work, instability of the mind etc. I am taking Ayuvedic Products for the last 24 years and now the body has become immune to these bodies. Allopathic Ayuvedic Products have not been able to give a permanent solution to my problems. I have constipation, pain in the hands and legs and pale face. I also, thought of committing suicide several times but now I love my life. I am practicing asana and pranayam as per your advice. As a result I have a clear stomach, stable mind and less anger. The complexion of my face and skin has also changed. I feel much better and completely stopped taking Ayuvedic Products.
I have been reading Yog Sandesh magazine for the last one year regularly. I believe that this magazine increases the self-confidence of the people. Dissatisfied and unhappy people can definitely get back their happiness and confidence after reading this magazine. The experiences of the people published under the title "Your Experiences" is indeed very interesting and also inspires others to practice pranayam and Yog. It is a monthly magazine but I feel that it should be read every week for maximum benefits.
I have noticed surprising results in some diseases under the mission of teaching Yog to one thousand people. My colleague working in railways used to snore heavily. I advised them to practice ujjayi pranayam with more concentration. Surprising results were noticed and snoring stopped within three months. Pragati Mohan used to suffer with partial headache, she poured few drops of lukewarm ghee prepared with cow milk in the right nostril and the headache vanished immediately. You deserve the whole credit. I bow down to you for this.
Yours truly, Lakshmikant Pandit. Katras Bazar (Dhanbad), Jharkhand – 828114, India
I was suffering with severe ear pain and the doctor suggested for operation. I started practicing pranayam on the advice of Bhalchandra and within a fortnight I realized that the ear problem has vanished totally. The doctor told that there was no need for operation and the ear problem has been completely cured. The whole credit goes to you.
Yours truly, Chandrashekhar Gulabrao Khedekar 565/60, Gokhalenagar, India
I am 36 years old. I have been suffering with high blood pressure, sugar, and acidity for the last 8 to 9 years. Yog camps are organized at several institutions in my city. I attended many camps but did not find any benefits. I consulted the doctor in the month of August and they asked me to visit the heart centre in the city.
I visited Murlidhar Aggarawal's Yog centre in Khemka. The centre imparts free training of Yog as per your directions. I learnt Yog from the same centre. Regular practice for one and half hour everyday brought down the sugar level to 140 from 300- 350 within four days. Insomnia, hand and leg pain also vanished. My weight has reduced by seven kilos in one month. I have been relieved of all the diseases. Swamiji I am thankful to you for everything.

In the same issue, information provided on the diagnosis and cure of psychosis was commendable. The whole editorial, research team of Yog Sandesh should be appreciated for the unmatchable contribution in Yog Sandesh. With God's grace I had the opportunity to meet you at Kankhal. I was suffering with a peculiar eye problem. I consulted an eye specialist at least six times in Chennai. I am being treated for the problem since 2003 but there has been no improvement in the condition.
I watched your program on channel and was very inspired. I did not find any improvement in the beginning but regular practice for six months proved to be very beneficial and noticed considerable improvement in the eye. The blurred vision also improved, I noticed positive results in the problem. Your mission of making the entire mankind disease free is certainly commendable.
I was suffering with dental problems and consulted many doctors. I used different kinds of toothpaste available in the market but of no use. I started pranayam after watching your CD but I thought that I am not able to practice it in systematic manner. However I got good relief from my dental problems and also read your books, which changed my attitude. I also started practicing Yog and pranayam in the correct method. It was a miracle.
My daughter and wife attended the camp at Hardwar on 17 September 2005. The camp was helpful for my wife as it cured her arthritis problem. My daughter had developed a tumour in the throat and also suffered from migraine, both the problems were cured during that camp. I wish you success in your objective. I am a regular reader of Yog Sandesh. Swami Ii now you are not alone, you have made so many Yog warriors, and I bow down to you several times.
I am a heart patient and suffered a mild attack a few months ago. I was admitted into leU and after getting discharged, 90, 80 and 60 per cent blockages were found in three arteries. Doctors advised me to go for bypass surgery and angioplasty, which would cost around one lakh rupees without any guarantee of cure. Then I took the shelter of Yog and Ayurved. I learnt anulom- vilom and kapalbhati from Bapu Padalwar.
I am practicing anulom-vilom and kapalbhati for 20 minutes twice daily. I also take a walk for half an hour at medium pace. This increased my stamina and resistance power. Palpitation during walk has also reduced. I also suffered from acidity, which has also reduced and my digestion has also improved. This has given me lot of satisfaction; I extend my sincere thanks to you, Yog and Ayurved.
I suffered an attack in the month of June 2004. The angiography test revealed that there was around 70 to 90 per cent blockage in three arteries and was advised for a bypass surgery. I was also a diabetic patient. I started practicing kapalbhati and anulom-vilom pranayam by watching your program on Indian TV channel. I stopped taking Ayuvedic Products for diabetes since 6th August 2004 and the sugar level was normal. I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and my weight at the time of attack was 83 kilos. Presently it is 72-73 kilos. TMT done on 4th February 2005 and the doctor told me that there was no need for an operation. I do not have problem since that day onwards. Swami Ji, Yog has changed my life and made it enthusiastic. I am grateful to you for everything.
Swami Ramdev to conduct Yoga camps in Pakistan, US, Britain, Japan and Australia, July & August 2006.
New Delhi, April 16 (UNI): After winning millions of followers in India, renowned Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev is all set to conduct his training camps on foreign soil, starting with Pakistan in July.
The Swami received his inspiration to visit the neighbouring country and motivate people there into practising the traditional Indian Vedic system from a newspaper survey, which voted him as the "most popular Indian in Pakistan".
Even Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was ranked behind him in that survey.
"Swami Ramdev believes that his mission for bringing health and peace is for the entire humanity, transcending the geographical boundaries," said Mr S K Tijarewala, the spokesman of the Hardwar-based Patanjali Yogapeeth, headed by the Yoga Guru.
The Swami's itinerary during the year will also take him to US, Britain, Japan and Australia.
Swami Ramdev said he was under tremendous pressure from millions of overseas Yoga followers, including not only the Non-Resident Indians but also the local residents, who have already established a bonding with him through Astha TV channel, whose programmes are telecast in over 100 countries.
A survey by a national news channel has also received people's endorsement that the Swami should propagate India's age-old Yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic culture on foreign soil.
Mr Tijarewala said there are around 17 million Yoga followers in the US. Besides, the popularity of the Yoga is increasing phenomenally in that country. "This shows that the west is eagerly looking towards the east to show them the path of a constructive, stress-free and healthy existence."
Shekhawat inaugurates Ramdev's 'Patanjali Yogpeeth'
Haridwar, India. The Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat today
inaugurated Swami Ramdev's 'Patanjali Yogpeeth' here, saying the Yoga
exponent had shown the path of healthy living to the poor.
Swami Ramdev has shown the path of healthy living to nearly 26 crore
people who are living below the poverty line, the Vice-President said
at a ceremony in Bahadarabad village.
"Allopathic medicines are costly, Yoga is much cheaper to them,"
Shekhawat said.
Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari said the institute had already
been given the status of an university with Ramdev being its life-
long Chancellor.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who attended the ceremony with
his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, said the
government would try to link Bahadarabad with the rail network and
asked the people to "religiously follow" the teachings of the Yoga
expert.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Bihar and Haryana Chief
Ministers Nitish Kumar and Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Bajaj Auto chief
Rahul Bajaj were among those who attended the inauguration of the
institute, built at a cost of Rs 110 crore.
Swami Ramdev was in the news recently for allegations that he
used "human and animal remains" in his medicines, but was later given
a clean chit by the Uttaranchal Government.
