 Bhastrika Pranyama. It is a deep breathing exercise, which should be done for at least 3 to 5 minutes.
 Kapalbhati Pranayama. It is a fast breathing exercise with forceful exhalation. It should be done for at least 5 to 10 minutes. 
Bahya Pranayama. It is an exercise that involves holding of breath with three bandhs. It should be practiced for at least 2 minutes.
Anulom-Vilom. It is an alternate nostril breathing exercise that should be done for approximately 5 minutes.
 Bhramari Pranayama. It is a meditational breathing exercise. It should be done for at least 2 minutes.
 Udgeet Pranayama. It is a breathing exercise in which the word “Om” is recited regularly. It should be done for at least 5 times.
 Ujjayi Pranayama. It is a throat breathing exercise. It should be done in 3 to 11 times.

Swami Ram Dev’s “Save Ganga Campaign” Brings the Two Communities Together

Ram Dev’s mission to save Ganga from pollution has brought the Hindu and Muslim communities together. Both Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Muslim clerics have come forward to support his campaign. The campaign was started on September 18, 2008 in a meeting of a community called Ganga Raksha Manch at Kanpur.
The eminent leaders of both the communities like Swami Chinmayanand and Sadhvi Rithambara along with Muslim clerics like Nawab Mir Jafar came together on the stage to lend their support to Baba Ram Dev’s campaign.
Swami Ram Dev further appealed to the Government of India to declare the holy river Ganga a national heritage and make stringent laws to get it free from any sort of pollution. He also made a great appeal to the masses of the country to keep their sacred river clean and free from pollution. The leaders of both the major communities have decided to meet the Prime Minister of India on September 20, 2008 at Delhi.

inform you that when I came to know about yog I was filled with the
joy and hope in helping myself to fight and prevent curable and

In Mumbai, on Feb 6 2008,: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty learned a few yogic asanas (postures) from Baba Ramdev during the yoga camp here today in which thousands of people participated.

Shilpa, a self-confessed fitness freak said, she had been performing yoga for long but was quite oblivious to the numerous benefits it offered.
“I started performing yoga because I’m suffering from cervical spondylosis which I developed during weight training,” she said.

After the yoga session, Shilpa presented Ramdev with one of her fitness DVDs called ‘Shilpa’s Yoga’, which has already created waves in the United Kingdom.


Swami Ramdev has popularised yoga across the world with claims of the ancient knowledge curing illnesses ranging from cancer to AIDS through breathing exercises and traditional medicines.

The Indian Central Government has set up a task force to create a database of yoga techniques in order to stop others from patenting the centuries-old knowledge. Apart from helping one lose weight, yoga has also been known to benefit one in various aliments like blood pressure, arthritis, regulating blood sugar and even in heart ailments.

Amid plethora of media reports of actresses of tinsel town; from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Priyanka Chopra to Bipasha Basu to Kareena Kapoor striving to achieve 'size zero' through their rigorous fitness regimes, Shilpa Shetty, the 'original Bollywood actress with a healthy body', today said all this talk of 'size zero' was a misnomer.
''Contrary to popular perception in the media, achieving 'size zero' is not healthy. In fact, for someone being called 'size zero' is not a complement. So, it is wrong on the part of the media to call someone 'size sero','' Shilpa said at a function for the release of ''Shilpa's Yoga'', an instructional video based on the ancient Indian practice of Yoga.
On the media increasingly calling her the main reference point for actresses trying to achieve a so called 'size zero' body, Shilpa said, ''I am not size zero, maybe 'size eight' but definitely not 'size zero'.
'' About the media talk of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor being the latest example of someone achieving 'size zero', Shilpa said, ''I don't think Kareena is 'size zero', maybe 'size four' or 'size five'.
'' On her recipe for fitness, Shilpa said she was not in favour of indulging in crash diets to achieve a fit body.
''My Philosophy in life is 'eat well and work out hard'. At the same time, if you want to be healthy and fit, you need to have some discipline in terms of the diet you consume,'' the actress said.
Talking about her latest Yoga DVD, Shilpa said, ''it has been shot at the beautiful backwaters of God's own country 'Kerala'.'' She said the video was targetted at the international market.
''I was inspired with the idea of coming with this video after being told that all the Yoga DVDs in the market till now have been done by international experts on Yoga.
It surprised me to know that no Indian had till now come up with a video about Yoga which originated from India. So I decided to come up with one myself,'' Shilpa said.
The training and workshops in Yoga, which went into the making of the DVD, however, had the actress hooked on to the art.

''It was a great experience shooting for this video. In fact, after working on this DVD, I have myself become a great fan of Yoga. Practicing it has helped me achieve a healthy mind, body and soul.''It is a management system for life and the most holistic approach to life that I have come across. It strengthens, tones and cures. It works on body, mind and soul.
In short I can say that Yoga has had a spectacular impact on my life,'' Shilpa said.
Directed by Manisha Jha, under the instruction of well-known Yoga instructor Shiv Kumar Misra, 'Shilpa's Yoga' is picturised on the scenic beach with ceremonia elephants and Kalaripayattu fighters in the background and demonstrations of asanas in a simplified manner.
''The concept of the DVD is to make Yoga look simple, something that can be practised by anyone - from ten-year-olds to a 60-year- old,'' the actress said. In reply to a question on whether she wanted to give competition to Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Shilpa said, ''there is no question of competition with Baba Ramdev. I am myself a big fan of him
.
I admire him as a person who single-handedly has created a huge awareness for Yoga in the country and made it so accessible.'' Also present at the launch of the DVD were the Atul Maroo and its director Hiren Gada

The success of Khali, the WWE wrestler, has captivated the Indians. Diet and exercise notwithstanding, very few are aware that Baba Ramdev and yoga are the real catalysts behind the wrestler's stupendous success.
BABA RAMDEV has a major spiritual impact on the great Khali, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler. Ramdev is one of the greatest yoga gurus of India. At the time when Khali was losing his matches and couldn’t understand what to do, Ramdev gave him the mantra of yoga. It was meant to cool him down and to help him control his temper. Subsequently, Khali started doing yoga and became a follower of the guru. Ramdev also advised the wrestler to take vegetarian food only.
 
Khali is not the only wrestler who practices yoga. Former WWE women’s champion, Trish Stratus (Patricia Stratigias) is also a great supporter of yoga. She had benefited from yoga, when she was suffering from back pain. Presently, she has her own yoga studio. Diamond Dallas, an American professional wrestler, is also a yoga fan.
 
Yoga can cure serious ailments, which arise from stress and negative thinking. It can also boost productivity and improve the quality of life. Yoga boosts up inner energy, which protects us.
 
Apart from yoga, Khali also indulges in weight lifting and other exercise to maintain his body. The giant wrestler is also takes a good amount of food, according to his size, which requires a strict and intimidating daily dietary regimen. Various sites have reported that his daily diet includes five gallons of milk, five chickens and two dozen eggs, along with chapatis, juices and fruits.
 
It is expected that he would meet his spiritual guru, Ramdev, when he returns to India.
