henry
good question and one i have been working with over time. its great you
create a space for your clients to express there feelings . i dont know your
background but i have 2 recommendations based on my own experience;
consider a system that works directly with the bodymind interface one is
called hakomi. as a practitioner it has proven invaluable. even a basic
workshop will give you some tools to work with that wont take up much time
during the bodywork session, but you will have to allow for your client to
process those emotions and possible memories so i would extend your sessions
30 mins obviuosly you can explain this to your client when they make their
appt.
my next recommendation is what i realized after practicing my first
recommendation for a number of yrs. your clients just want you to be present
with them, nothing needs to be done and it very rarely takes up any more
time than a 60 or 75 min bodywork session. being present with your client
and taking the time to pay attention to there pain or suffering will heal
them
as far as the ethics i think your safe just being present with your client
as far as i know even ny has'nt passed a law against that.
you would have to check with you CA states laws on therapy regarding my 1st
recommendation
good luck
