Method of Censorship at the Structural Integration Forum   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1815 of 2141 |

Despite the claims of its bosses, here is the
[Structural_Integration]'s method of censorship.

Once a message is identified as not worthy of beeing seen by the
Internet, then in order to be able to pretend that there is no
cencorship (we are not animals), the message is first sent to all
subscribers. Then it is swiftly deleted from the portal,
convieniently refered to as the archives, implying that the portal
is not a main access to the forum for many users. The message is
then placed in the Files section (the vault) which is accessible to
members only, implying this time that the poortal is actually
commonly used by users. There is a paradox here: if the portal is
not important enough to leave the message for users to see it say 1
week or 1 month later, how could the portal be important enough that
access to the files section is considered common. It takes the
portal to access the files section.

The moderators want people to think that they did not hide the
message. But effectively, it is hidden from all users who never use
the portal, once it is in the vault. It is assumed that everyone
uses mail delivery (no need for portal for that) to justify that
removing the message from the portal is not censorship. However many
users do not use mail delivery, they use the portal, and when they
do, the message disapeared. If they do 1 week later, or even minutes
later, then the message is gione from main view. Most of Portal
users will not systematically go outside of main view to consult the
deleted messages.

Then subsequent answers may be posted from the few subscribers who
were lucky enough to opt for mail delivery and therefore got the
original; if these answers include the quoted original, they too
will be censored.

1 week after the original, the discussion has been killed. The topic
effectively dies.

That is how the new forum pretends to not censor, by putting the
censored messages in a vault.
