Pelvic Work & Mystical Experiences   Message List

Hi all -- I'm wondering about two things: 1) if anyone on the list
has experience giving a session following Louis Schultz's book _Out
in the Open: The Complete Male Pelvis_, and 2) whether you have
experience with clients who have had mystical experiences as a result
of SI work.

I had an advanced session (about a year after my 10 series) that
followed Louis's book, and three or four days afterward, after doing
a rather simple yoga routine, I went outside and experienced
something similar to what Don Johnson and Jeff Maitland describe in
_The Protean Body_ and _Spacious Body_, respectively.

The elements of the experience were the following: prereflective
consciousness, oneness with nature, unawareness of past and future,
complete lack of self-consciousness, a profound feeling of caring and
love for other life forms, a distinct feeling of being an animal no
better/higher than other animals, and a bodymind awareness of my own
finitude as well as my belongingness within the life/death cycle
characteristic of all life forms.

I'm a psychologist and a theoretician of sorts, and when things like
this happen I want to figure out why. My initial thoughts are that
the session released the musculature associated with toilet training,
which in turn promoted a different kind of existential consciousness,
one that people may typically defend against because of the deep
awareness of one's finitude it involves. I'm interested in any
thoughts from the rest of the list.

Thanks,
Chad Hagans
