Well... The trick is realizing the particular level of palpation you need to
be working with. Ideally, taking a class will get you on track, and then
you can expand from the book or DVD. It would be like learning SI from a
book - are you on the right tissue? Using the right degree of touch? I
would think that you could learn a tremendous amount about what the
structures and contents of the cavities are that one rarely touches on in a
regular class, if nothing else. I got the book years before I ever did a
class and I learned a lot from it.
For future reference, I post here when I hear of visceral classes that are
being held. Didier Prat, DO (France) who is a good buddy of Barral will be
teaching in the US in late summer. The details aren't hammered out yet.
