I have experience with measuring x-ray film of clients with ankylosing
spondylitis. By the way ankylosing means bamboo like because the fibers on
the edge of the discs are reinforced with calcium and on the film they look
like the joints of a bamboo stem. With years of consistent care keeping the
muscle contractions across the joints reduced re-x-ray demonstrates a
reduction of the calcification and increased ROM. Long before the changes
can be visualized on film patients report reduction of pain mostly pain
free.
