Hello Mommies and Daddies!
We hope you've been enjoying the beautiful weather! I got a nice e-
mail from a volunteer photographer, Karl Gohl, at Rancho San Antonio who snapped
several of you at the park on Wednesday with Kristen and little Lillian. What a
good looking bunch of hikers! I'd love to post the photo at StrollerHikes.com
if this is OK. I placed it in a photo album for this yahoo group
(http://health.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrollerHikes/photos/view/c547?b=1).
Please let me know if you DO NOT want it posted at the website. If I don't hear
anything from a member about NOT posting the photo in the next week, I may use
it on one of the webpages.
Here are this coming week's events:
Monday, March 3rd at 9:30 am at Stevens Creek Trail. The hike will
begin from Creekside Park in Mountain View. Diana and little Taeva
Rose will lead the hike. For more information, see Stevens Creek
Trail Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/StevensCreekTrail/StevensCreekTrai
l.html). Feel welcome to linger at the park before and after the hike
for some play and socialization!
Wednesday, March 5th at 11:30 am, we'll meet at Pichetti Open Space Preserve in
Cupertino. Meet at the trailhead entrance on the West side of the parking lot
(also the entrance to the winery). The trail is dirt on some rolling hills, but
it gets narrow in spots, so a front carrier or backpack are best. Bring a few
bucks (I think $5) and we can linger afterwards for wine tasting and snacks (an
early lunch). For more information or directions, see the Pichetti Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/Pichetti/Pichetti.html). Kristen and little
Lillian will lead this hike; Kristen's cell # is 408-410-7200.
Thursday, March 6th at 4 pm we'll hike at John W Christian Greenbelt
and Calabazas Creek. Meet at Blazingwood Drive entrance (near Sandia
Avenue). The entire path is paved, so all types of baby transport
will work. Dogs are allowed! There are parks and play structures
along the path. Debbie and little Max will lead this hike. For more
information or directions, see Greenbelt Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/GreenbeltSunnyvale/GreenbeltSunnyv
ale.html). If you're running late, call me at 650-776-1082. The
hike will last about an hour.
Friday, March 7th at 1:30 pm we'll hike at Rancho San Antonio. Meet
at the upper parking lot where model airplanes are flown (just past
the entrance, turn right, then left into the first parking area
uphill from the lower two). For more information or directions, see
the Rancho San Antonio Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/RanchoSanAntonio/ranchoSanAntonio.
html). Sorry, dogs not allowed. Sharisse and little Chase will lead
this hike. All types of baby transport work fine.
Plan Ahead! Saturday, March 29 at 11:30, there will be a WEEKEND
FAMILY EVENT! Enjoy a hike amongst the wildflowers at Sunol, with a
picnic. Dog friendly and led by Kristen and family! A $5 parking fee
and $2 dog fee are paid at the entry kiosk to the park. For more
information about the hike, check out Bay Area Hiker's description
(http://www.bahiker.com/eastbayhikes/sunol.html) or the East Bay Parks Webpage
(http://www.ebparks.org/parks /sunol). The grounds are
likely more lush than in her pictures; there should be a lot of green
grass and wildflowers. We will hike 2 miles up Camp Ohlone Road for a picnic
lunch at the little Yosemite area of the Sunol Wilderness, this hike follows a
well maintained dirt road that is suitable for all types of baby transport. Pack
your lunch and bring the whole
family (including dog) along. Meet at the gate for the Camp Ohlone Road, at the
end of the park road at 11:30. Once you enter the park continue straight and
park near Leyden Flats or Alameda Grove, the hike begins at the end of the road.
