Hello Mommies and Daddies!
It's pouring rain today! Wow! While we marvel at nature's power
from INSIDE, hopefully we can plan ahead for this week's events, when
the rain (hopefully) clears... then enjoy splashing in puddles
between storms.
Here's what's on the horizon:
Monday, November 3rd at 9:30 am we'll meet at John W Christian
Greenbelt. Amy and little Adelina will lead a speed walk / jog along
the lovely wide, paved greenbelt in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. Dogs
allowed but be sure they can manage on a faster-paced walk/run. We'll
take a break around the halfway point for the trip, to play at the
large playground for toddlers, along the greenbelt. Meet at the
pedestrian bridge on Ahwanee Avenue and San Junipero Drive (the
bridge is just NW of San Junipero Dr.). Here is a Mapquest Map of the
Starting Location:

more information about the trail, see the John W Christian
Greenbelt Webpage

Call Amy at 650-207-6556 if you are runnng late or have
questions.
Wednesday, November 5th at 10 am we'll hike at Hidden Villa in Los
Altos Hills. Enjoy the largely shaded hikes with rolling hills in
this functioning farm that includes a tourable garden and animal
pens. Meet at the farm's parking lot near their visitor center. Bring
a suggested $5 donation for parking. Baby backpacks or carriers work
best for the hike; if you just want to see the farm, a jogging
stroller works fine and you'll be able to do the first part of the
creekside trail. Sorry, dogs not allowed. For directions or more
information, see the Hidden Villa Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/HiddenVilla/HiddenVilla.html).
Kristen and little Lillian will lead this hike. Kristen's cell # is
408-410-7200 if you're running late.
Thursday, November 6th at 9 am Jennifer and her little one will be
leading a hike around Campbell Park and Los Gatos Creek Trail. Meet
by the kiosk by the bridge in Campbell Park, located at the corner of
Gilman Avenue and E Campbell Avenue. The path is entirely paved, so
any baby transport will work. Jennifer comes with over a decade of
experience leading nature hikes, so come ready to learn a little
about the flora and fauna of the area. For directions and more
information about the trail, see the Los Gatos Creek Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/LosGatosCreek/LosGatosCreek.html).
If you're running late, call Jennifer at (408) 470-0463.
Thursday, November 6th at 4:30 pm we'll meet at Alviso Marina and Don
Edwards Wildlife Refuge in Alviso. Come enjoy the range of birds, the
Bay breezes (which kick up in the afternoon), and see the train! Meet
at the Marina Parking lot. Bring a carrier or a jogging stroller.
Sorry, no dogs allowed. For directions or more information about the
area, see The Alviso / Don Edwards Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/Alviso/Alviso.html). Debbie and
little Max will lead this hike; call 650-776-1082 if you're running
late.
Use your best judgement when attending events, bringing warm clothes
and protection from the wetness. Most events occur as long as rain
isn't coming down hard, wind is mild, and the temperature is not very
cold. If you're wondering about a cancellation due to rain, wind, or
cold, you can always call the event leader at the numbers listed
above.
