Hello Mommies and Daddies!
Glad to hear some of you made it out to Calero for their "Oh Baby,
What a Hike" event. With the fires burning and weather a bit
tentative, I've been surprised to see how many folks are getting
outside, but we've been getting out when air quality is good,
raincoats on, and have been loving it! With today's article in the
San Jose Mercury News about the negative state of state parks, it's
more important to make yourselves visible to park employees to remind
them that outdoor public resources are precious to young and old.

On this note, I'm holding a forum on June 17 (Tuesday) at 10 am
to discuss the future of StrollerHikes. Shall we go officially non-
profit? What other services/features are feasible and of interest?
All are welcome (with your children if you'd like) to come and
discuss this and related issues. If you can't make it but have an
opinion, please feel free to e-mail me your ideas. The forum will be
at my house in Sunnyvale and probably last one hour if attendees are
on time; please e-mail me if you're interested in attending and I'll
send you directions and an address. Snacks provided!

Here are this week's events:
Monday, May 26th at 9:30 am let's hike at Stevens Creek Trail. The
hike will begin from Creekside Park in Mountain View. Diana and
little Taeva Rose will lead the hike. For more information, see
Stevens Creek Trail Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/StevensCreekTrail/StevensCreekTrail.html).
Feel welcome to linger at the park before and after the hike
for some play and socialization!

Wednesday, May 28th at 11:30 am we'll hike at Pichetti Open Space
Preserve in Cupertino. Meet at the trailhead entrance on the West
side of the parking lot (also the entrance to the winery). The trail
is dirt on some rolling hills, but it gets narrow in spots, so a
front carrier or backpack are best. Bring a few bucks (I think $5)
and we can linger afterwards for wine tasting and snacks (an early
lunch). For more information or directions, see the Pichetti Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/Pichetti/Pichetti.html). Kristen
and little Lillian will lead this hike. Kristen's cell # is 408-410-
7200 if you're running late.

Thursday, May 29th at 4 pm, we'll hike at Hidden Villa. Enjoy the
largely shaded hikes with rolling hills in this functioning farm that
includes a tourable garden and animal pens. Meet at the farm's
parking lot near their visitor center. Bring a suggested $5 donation
for parking. Baby backpacks or carriers work best for the hike; if
you just want to see the farm, a jogging stroller works fine. Sorry,
dogs not allowed. For directions or more information, see Hidden
Villa Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/HiddenVilla/HiddenVilla.html).
Debbie and little Max will lead this hike. Debbie's cell number is
650-776-1082 if you're running late.

Friday, May 30th at 1:30 pm we'll meet at Los Gatos Creek Trail for a
hike toward / to Vasona Park. This is a two-lane paved path, so any
transport will work. Meet at 75 Church Street, across from the Old
Forbes Mill. For directions or information about the trail, see Los
Gatos Creek Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/LosGatosCreek/LosGatosCreek.html).
Sorry, no dogs allowed. Sharisse and little Chase will lead this
hike. If you'd like to do window shopping afterwards, downtown Los
Gatos is just over the footbridge from this trailhead!

Have a wonderful Memorial Day!
-Debbie and little Max
