Weekly Events for StrollerHikes

Hello Mommies and Daddies!

Max enjoyed his very first backpacking trip this weekend. The trip
was filled with animals (salamanders, wild turkeys, deer, squirrels,
rabbits, and cows) and wildflowers, as well as piles of hills to
climb (not so great for packing in - all uphill, but awesome for
packing out). We got rained on, but despite the dampness had a nice
time. We didn't stick around for the lovely picnic at Little
Yosemite afterwards, but if you made it out there earlier today with
Kristen and her family, you probably saw some of those wildflowers,
turkeys, and salamanders too!

Here are next week's events:

Monday, March 31st at 9:30 am let's hike at Stevens Creek Trail. The
hike will begin from Creekside Park in Mountain View. Diana and
little Taeva Rose will lead the hike. For more information, see
Stevens Creek Trail Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/StevensCreekTrail/StevensCreekTrail.html).
Feel welcome to linger at the park before and after the hike
for some play and socialization!

Wednesday, April 2nd at 11:30 am at Fremont Older. We usually do
Seven Springs Loop, but this time we may venture to the other end of
the park along the fire road, for some nice vistas. Dogs welcome. For
more information about the area and directions, see Fremont Older
Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/FremontOlder/FremontOlder.html).
Meet at the Prospect Road parking lot. Baby carriers suggested,
though a large-wheeled baby jogger works OK. Kristen and little
Lillian will lead this hike. Kristen's cell # is 408-410-7200.

Thursday, April 3rd at 4 pm, we'll meet at Alviso Marina and Don
Edwards Wildlife Refuge in Alviso. Come enjoy the range of birds, the
Bay breezes, and see the train! Meet at the Marina Parking lot. Bring
a carrier or a jogging stroller. Sorry, no dogs allowed. For
directions or more information about the area, see The Alviso / Don
Edwards Page (http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/Alviso/Alviso.html).
Debbie and little Max will lead this hike. Debbie's cell number is
650-776-1082 if you're running late.

Friday, April 4th at 1:30 pm, we'll meet at Los Gatos Creek Trail for
a hike toward / to Vasona Park. This is a two-lane paved path, so any
transport will work. Meet at 75 Church Street, across from the Old
Forbes Mill. For directions or information about the trail, see Los
Gatos Creek Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/LosGatosCreek/LosGatosCreek.html).
Sorry, no dogs allowed. Sharisse and little Chase will lead this
hike. If you'd like to do window shopping afterwards, downtown Los
Gatos is just over the footbridge from this trailhead!

A couple of friends recently had their cars broken into when they
went for hikes in the Castle Rock area (Skyline, above Saratoga), so
wherever you hike, be sure to keep valuables out of sight to reduce
your risk of being a target of this kind of behavior. Alternatively,
I suppose you could repel a crook - would a dirty diaper on the
dashboard do the trick? (Hee hee)
Enjoy the week!

-Debbie and little Max
