Hello all-

Despite the downturn of the economy, creative spirit and natural energy are
buzzing along, this spring. Stroller Hikes enlisted the help of several dozen
ROP Graphic Arts high school students at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino to
generate a new logo. What will it be? Decisions, decisions. You can check out
the finalists by visiting www.strollerhikes.com/FinalLogoPossibilities.pdf and
vote to pick your favorite(s) in the poll through this yahoo group. There will
be some small modifications to the final one selected, in terms of final
coloring, modification to the image to send a clearer message, and
modification/addition of text.

On the same note, students have been applying for summer interships with
Stroller Hikes, something that is bound to be fruitful with all of that young
energy, eye for digital detail, and innovative spirit. As Stroller Hikes
continues to grow, it's also gaining partnerships with like-minded
organizations. If you have your own suggestions about how Stroller Hikes should
grow or reach out to others, please let us know by replying to this message

Tuesday, April 7th at 9 am Loren and little Angelo will lead a mellow stroller
jog around Almaden Lake and down Los Alamitos Trail. Meet at the water dragon by
the big playground near the bathrooms and swimming beach in the main parking lot
near the intersection of Coleman Avenue and Almaden Expressway. No dogs allowed!
Jogging strollers are best, but this is an entirely paved trail, so
smaller-wheeled strollers are also OK. Walkers always welcome! For more

Wednesday, April 8th at 9:30 am we'll hike at Rancho San Antonio in
Cupertino/Los Altos Hills. We'll do an almost entirely paved, flat path going to
the farm, and possibly go past it. The road is perfect for trikes or bikes, if
toddlers or young children want to ride. Any baby transport will work. Meet at
the main lower parking lot at the water fountain in front of the bathrooms(just
past the entrance, turn right, then follow the road until it ends). For more

Thursday, April 9th at 4:30 pm we'll meet for a Toddler Trek at Alviso Marina.
Come enjoy the range of birds, the Bay breezes (which kick up in the afternoon),
and see the train! The boardwalks here are great for toddlers, who will be
encouraged to walk, run, and explore. We'll talk about birds and where they live
in the marshlands, as well as what they eat. Meet at the Marina Parking lot. For

Friday, April 10th at 10 am come out for a hike with Loren and little Angelo at
Joseph D. Grant Park in San Jose. Come check out this historic park, containing
a beautiful ranch house, several lakes, and a lot of wildlife. The park is at
18405 Mt. Hamilton Road, and can be accessed from Hwy 680's Alum Rock Avenue
exit; travel east on Alum Rock for 2.2 miles, then turn right on Mt. Hamilton
Road. After about 7.5 miles on Mt. Hamilton Road, turn right to enter the park.
Bring a few dollars to pay for parking, then park at the Stockman's Area. Meet
at the bathroom facility at the south end of Stockman's parking lot. We'll hike
to the Hotel Trail via a 0.1 mile access trail, then turn left on Hotel Trail.
We'll cross Mt. Hamilton Road, then turn right on Yerba Buena Trail, crossing
two gates before crossing over Mt. Hamilton Road again. We'll continue the loop
on Bass Lake Trail, then turn right onto Hotel Trail, staying right, to return
to the parking lot. This is a 2.2 mile hike with some hills. If we want to
extend the hike, we'll visit Grant Lake after we finish this loop. If you're

Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 pm join Jennifer and Kayla for a full-moon hike at
Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch Park near Gilroy. What a treat to share sunset and
witness some critters settling down to rest, while other creatures come alive at
night! We'll hike Martin Murphy Trail, a 2 mile paved loop, with excellent
vantage points for seeing stars and looking for bats flying to catch insects,
while offering plenty of safe space for toddlers and children to hike with us.
Rangers will welcome us, then Jennifer will alert you to nature at dusk and
beyond, by the light of the moon. All family members welcome! This is a Santa

mile East of Foothill Avenue, on San Martin Avenue. Call Jennifer at
