Hello Mommies and Daddies!
We hope you're enjoying the weather and great array of social
opportunities that come with the Spring. Max is excited about candy,
eggs, and bunnies as of late, and will have completed five egg hunts
by the end of this weekend! Phew!
Here are this week's events:
Monday, March 24th at 1:30 pm, we'll hike Los Alamitos Creek Trail.
The path is entirely paved, so any strollers or baby transport will
work. We may linger afterwards play in the playground, visit with the
ducks, or have a snack on the nice, green lawn. Meet by the play
ground next to the Bocce Ball Court, near the entrance gate. Dogs are
welcome, and this is a toddler-friendly path that is great for new
tricycle or bicycle riders. For more information or directions, see
the Los Alamitos Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/LosAlamitos/LosAlamitos.html). Be
sure to follow the directions at the website, as there are two
entrances to the park, and we're meeting at the side that allows
dogs. If they are charging for parking and you don't want to pay,
park along the street just outside the park entrance and walk in. Amy
and little Adelina will lead this hike. Amy's number is 408-368-7161
if you're running late.
Wednesday, March 26th at 11:30 am we'll hike at Rancho San Antonio.
Meet at the upper parking lot where model airplanes are flown (just
past the entrance, turn right, then left into the first parking area
uphill from the lower two). For more information or directions, see
the Rancho San Antonio Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/RanchoSanAntonio/ranchoSanAntonio.
html). Sorry, dogs not allowed. Kristen and little Lillian will lead
this hike; Kristen's cell # is 408-410-7200. Bring a carrier or
backpack if you'd like to have the largest choice in hikes to do, but
there are several routes that will take any kind of stroller.
Thursday, March 27th at 4 pm we'll hike at Ulistac Natural Area and
Guadalupe Levee in Santa Clara. The trail is suitable for a large-
wheeled stroller or jogger, or a backpack or carrier (small-wheeled
strollers will not work well). Dogs allowed! Meet in the parking lot
of James Lick Park off of James Lick Road, which is across from the
natural area. We may linger afterwards to play in the huge
playground, or take a break at one of the playgrounds along the way.
For more information or directions, see Ulistac and Guadalupe Page
(http://www.strollerhikes.com/Hikes/Ulistac/Ulistac.html). Debbie and
little Max will lead this hike. Debbie's number is 650-776-1082 if
you're running late.
Friday, March 28th at 10:30 am Susannah and little Indiana will lead
a hike at Byxbee Park at the Byxbee parking area (a left turn at the
end of Embarcadero). We'll hike up and down the lovely crushed oyster
shell paths around the artistic installments to Byxbee Park, then
hike over to the Palo Alto Baylands Park, stopping to check out the
birds around the duck pond as well as windsurfers and artists taking
advantage of the good weather and interesting landscape. The trail
works fine for all types of strollers. Dogs allowed! For more
information about the parks and directions to Byxbee's main parking
lot, see Byxbee Page

point of the hike. Dog friendly and led by Kristen and family! We
will hike 2 miles up Camp Ohlone Road for a picnic lunch at the
little Yosemite area of the Sunol Wilderness, this hike follows a
well maintained dirt road that is suitable for all types of baby
transport. Pack your lunch and bring the whole family along. Meet at
the gate for the Camp Ohlone Road, at the end of the park road at
11:30. Directions and information about Sunol can be found at Bay
Area Hiker's Website (http://www.bahiker.com/eastbay

Andrew, Max, and I are backpacking on Friday, March 28th at Sunol, as
our first ever true backpacking trip with Max. If you'd like to hear
how it went, we'll be sure to share stories at the Saturday event!
If it goes well, we may invite y'all in the future! If you have your
own idea for a weekend event for StrollerHikes, please let me know -
we plan to have one each month.
