On the streets of Spondyville, the clean-up crews are busy sweeping up
the confetti and removing the rolls of celebratory toilet paper from
around the statue of town co-founder Elias Fuselot, which sits on the
edge of Fuselot park. The Pill dropping went off without a hitch this
year, so congrats to "Pops" for his able handling in lowering the giant
pill. The 'First Stretch' festivities were a teensy bit water-logged
as an intermittent rainstorm softly pelted the participants with a
couple of raindrops every ten to twenty seconds for the duration of the
stretching. Slip-sliding made the stretching somewhat hazardous, so the
scheduled program was cut short in time for everyone to get over to the
Spondy Cafe for some fresh coffee and crullers at daybreak. The sun
rose on a new day and a new year and the residents of Spondyville
smiled in anticipation of the good times to come.
Happy New Year, my fellow Spondyvilleans!
