Well I've had what they suspect to be Crohns disease since I was only nine years
old. All of the doctors I have been to all of these years have told me its just
IBS and stop worrying about it. They never sent me to a specialist or sent me
for any tests. All of these years I knew it was something more but had just
accepted this was the way it was going to be for me. It's made my life very
difficult, work, school everything has been affected by my bowel problems. Now
that the rheumatologist diagnosed me with AS he tested me right away for Crohns
and it came back positive. I have a colonoscopy scheduled for next Wednesday.
Then the rhuematologist is putting me on Humira, he said it treats both
diseases. He also said I shouldn't take Ibuprofen of any kind if I have Crohns
too because it makes Crohns worse. The Gastroentrologist did tell me yesterday
that alot of people will have both diseases if they have one or the other or
will eventually develope them both.
