My Daughter's Wish
A lot of you on here know me but for the ones who do not, I will tell you a
little bit about me and my family. My name is Allison Patterson & I'm 21 years
old. I'm one of the codirectors of the Mississippi chapter. I'm a quadriplegic
& I have a beautiful almost 4-year-old daughter. I became a quadriplegic as a
result of a 2005 DUI car accident. My daughter was exactly 1-month-old the day
of the accident. My brother and sister-in-law were her guardian angels by
taking in as their own even though they do not have kids. I missed the first
six months of my baby's life because I stayed in the hospital for over 5 months.
Her father is in jail because he was the reason for the car accident. She has
been through a lot to just be 4 years old. Most of it she will not remember &
I'm thankful that she will not. I know there will come a day when she will want
to know but for right now I just want her to be a child. My mother, my daughter
& I live in an apartment on the back of my brother's house. My wish is for many
cards/gifts for my daughters 4th birthday & I have also made a Wal-Mart wish
list with a few items for her birthday but most of the items is to help out with
clothing and other items for her first school year. In no way do I expect for
her to receive everything on the wish list but I just wanted to give everyone
choices & no clothes over $8. God bless! :-)
