went to a terrible doctor. When I called to make the appointment, I
definitely explained that I was someone who had an SCI and that I
needed pain medication. They said that they doctor did not have any
problems working with people with SCI and that he was a very friendly
guy. So when I get there, I am taken into the room and the tech/nurse
(not sure of her title) asks me the reason for my visit. I explain to
her the same thing. She tells me the doctor is very nice and would
help me. The doctor comes in and tells me that he won't prescribe
meds for me. He feels that I should go to a specialist in pain
management if I want pain medicine. I explain that my family doctor
has been prescribing them since I got out of the hospital. He also
tells me that nobody ever dies from pain. I am dumbfounded. If my
husband had been in the

looking at the doctor thinking, "Oh, no, he thinks I'm a
junkie/addict." He tells me the "evils" of pain medicine and how they
affect your liver. I explain that I cannot move or get out of beds
even with the help of my pain meds on certain days and I would not be
able to cope with the pain without them. I explain to him that when I
made the appointment I was very clear about the reason for the visit
and if he does not prescribe pain meds, then he shouldn't had
accepted my appointment. He apologizes, but won't prescribe meds.

in one of the rooms. I found out that he had D.O. after his name
instead of M.D. Did I not go to a real doctor. Also, I thought people
could die from pain. Isn't it called "shock." I know that that pain
caused health problems such as slower healing and long term chronic
problems. What the heck was with that guy and how do I seem to meet
the nutjobs.

hey candle, i am a c-6 quad and have went to a handfull of doctors
and what a story i can tell! 1 doctor, a neurologist, said i needed
to find god! then he prayed over me! worst of all he charged 470
dollars for the visit. believe me- i'll never in my life see that dr
again- his name dr john colby.
so went to another dr that he wanted me to see, and he kinda sorta
seen what i was trying to explain, but he was still no help.
so went to another dr, and dr was a woman. she told me to move to a
bigger city or state , that i was a rareity!!
all i was asking all of them was about the use of medical marijuuana
for muscle spasms and pain that i have. i have taken medications for
so long that my liver is acting up.
my family dr tells me if he were me, he'd smoke marijuana because it
wouldn't kill your liver. i've even went to counseling about this
issue and the counselor supports me 100%!
why can't people understand? i am treated like a normal person,
which i am a c-6 quad and in a wheelchair for life! guess i'll be
normal in heaven.
