Hello Everyone!
Great news! After much hard work, ADAPT now has a hearing on the
Community Choice Act! In September, we attended a hearing on the
Community Choice Act before the Senate Finance Committee. This
hearing is before the Health Subcommittee of the House Energy and
Commerce Committee, and will take place on January 16, 2008 in
Washington DC.
This is very important, so we will be taking as many people as
possible! TWO buses will leave the Center for Disability Rights
office located at 497 State Street, in Rochester, NY, on the evening
of January 15th. We will ride through the night, and arrive in
Washington, DC at about 5 or 6: 00 am. We will spend the day in DC
attending the hearing, then, return to Rochester, driving through the
night, and arriving back at CDR between 2 and 4:00 am. If you live in
the Rochester area, and use Lift Line, we will help you set up the
return trip on January 17th.
If you can go, please let us know immediately, and your name will be
put on the list. If you need to bring an attendant, that is fine.
There is no cost to go, but please bring some money for dinner, as
breakfast is taken care of. If you have any questions, please feel
free to contact Anita Cameron at (585) 546-7510 or
acameron@...
Thank you,
