Will be holding a Breakfast Parlor Meeting at our home the
residence of

Yeshivat Hesder Yerucham is considerd by many to be the premier
Hesder Yeshiva of All Hesder Programs in Israel. It is the Yeshiva
our son Eliyahu was zoche to attend in Israel, and it is with his
fellow students from Hesder Yerucham that he served in Tzhahal's
elite –Plugat Shimshon/Gaza Brigade. Hesder students combine yeshiva
studies with military service. Many Hesder students go on to serve as
officers and members of Israel's most Elite military units.
HOWEVER YESHIVAT HESDER YERUCHAM STANDS IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN.
In 1993 a group of young men from the finest religious Zionist
communities in Israel moved to Yerucham and founded Yeshivat Hesder
Yerucham. Their expressed goals were not only to study Torah on the
highest level and serve in the Israeli army, but also to settle the
Negev and to make Yerucham a model of a fully-integrated, successful
town according the highest values of religious Zionism.

Since its founding, the Yeshiva has become well-known throughout
Israel for its excellence in learning, and the warm relations both
among students and between students and rabbis. Unique to the Hesder
Yeshiva in Yerucham, however, is its commitment to the town and the
social action projects required of its students for the betterment of
the local population.
SEVERAL OF THESE PROGAMS INCLUDE:
1 .Chavrutot – Where Hesder students act as learning partners/tutors
for local elementary school students.
2. Enrichment program – a. Provision of numerous extra after-school
religious subject enrichment classes for local school students. B.
Presentation of classes in local synagogues both on Shabbat and
during the week.
3. Netivot – Yeshiva student's work/ meet with students from local
secular schools.
4. Bar Mitzvah Program – Targets 13 year old new immigrants, with the
aim of helping them build a Jewish identity.
5. Shabbat food package program – Packages are prepared/distributed
to the neighborhood poor to provide Shabbat meals.
