Hi, everyone
I'm new here. I'm starting this diet tomorrow. I've tried a lot of other diets
and nothing has worked. But then they have been a lot of work and special foods
to buy. This one looks like it will be the best to try. I just got to get into
the habit of eating breakfast. I don't eat breakfast on most day's. I also think
this will be the easiest to do at work. I work for Cracker Barrel and have
excess to special k there.
I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you

Hi, I'm Laura
I just graduated High School and I've been trying to diet,
but nothings been working. So I figured I'd give this a shot.
I'm 200lbs & 5'7" I've lost 7lbs but it took 7 months, lol.
I wanna be 140lbs before next summer b/c I'm supposed to be going
to Europe and I wanna go being thin and fit. I don't know if I'm
gonna follow this long term, but I do it for a while and see if it helps.
I'm also gonna walk with my mom and use the Firm. We've had the Firm
for a while, but haven't really used it, it just kinda sits there, so
I figure I'll give it a try.
So that's me!
Just wanted to say hi & introduce myself :-)
Hello Laura,
Wanted to say Hi and welcome to the group. I have been doing the special K
diet for 3 wks now and lost 4 lbs. Tomorrow is my next weigh in (I weight
myself every Sunday) and I hope I lost another 2 lbs. My 25th birthday is
coming
up in august and would like to lost 20-30 lbs. Good luck on your journey of
losing weight and I hope all goes well. ttyl

Thanks for answering. I have been on the diet for 2 days. I can't tell
anything different right now. Today I did walk a little bit more. I did
give in and eat a dounut. Tomorrow i will try not to. I am weak, but I
truly need to lose this weight for medical purposes along with me
wanting to for myself. Thanks for listing. loretta
hi loretta. i can completely symphatize with you. i have a weakness
for doughnuts to. if krispy kreme was'nt on the other side of town i
would probably weigh 300 lbs. it takes a while to really feel a
difference. just be patient.

Hello I am new. I just joined yesterday but I wont be starting till
Monday. Can anyone help me on how to stay on track? want to lose
20pounds by Dec 5th
Hi, I know what you mean. I have tried several different ones with no
success. It is hard rying to diet when my husband thinks it's stupid to
buy all this stuff and because I have failed before. He keeps buying
dounuts and telling me to try this flavor or that flavor. But I think
he knows that I an serious about this, beacuse he didn't buy his
dounuts this week. Hope to here from you soon loretta

I know what u mean about the donuts. At work they are selling Kripie
Creams..for 1.00 for a charity. I really have to say no to these people
like a million times..all they want me to do is eat cookies, cake,
pizza, pie, cinnamon rolls, and candy! Help! I know they mean well and
that the healthy food costs more..but why is Halloween so tempting. I
can say no to everything with white flour in it..but chocolate! help..!
any suggestions? Maybe I should bring my diet protien chocolate bar to
work with me today. Katie.

So, it is day 7. I didn't weigh myself today because right before I went to bed
last night I drank almost a whole liter of water (I was thirsty, lol) and I have
already had my cup of coffee before I remembered that I needed to weigh in. I
didn't check in yesterday But I did weigh in. I didn't lose anything but I
didn't gain anything either. I guess that is an accomplishment in it self being
that I strayed from my diet this weekend. But I am ready to stay on track. I
have my fruits to eat during snack time to hopefully get rid of those pesky
headaches.
Hi Katie, maybe you could buy a few choclate tootise pops. That way
you could still get a little choc. flavor, but not over do it. I just
have to turn my back when he comes in with his donuts. I keep my
snack bars handy and my water. I think I am going to start trying to
do a little more walking, the doctor won't let me do to much right
now. What do you do to keep motived? bye loretta

I think that is a great ideal. I bought a pair of jeans 2 sizes to
small on purpose. I look at them every moring before work and every
night. I carry my snack bars and protein bars and water to work with
me. When I'm not on the crain or putting up structure, I walk. It might
not be but 500 or 600 extra steps at a time but I try to do it at least
3 times a day. When we finish this job and get back home I am going to
ask my dr. if I can start riding my bike again. What do you think?

Wow, you have a great spirit. Gets me all motivated. For me I have good
intentions and am motivated at the beginning but I slow cheat and before I know
it I am not really dieting or exercising anymore. I think this group is great. I
have other people to keep me on track. I hear your enthusiasm and I get all
excited and you make me want to stick to my diet and get on that exercise bike.
So thanks!

you can have choc, it's not a problem, it's actually good for you eat the dark chocolate though, with more cocoa, and as sugarfree as possible. it does have good health benefits and you don't have to feel guilty about it.

Hi Dee Dee, Losing weight is a all time everday thing. I am 50 years
old and I use Quaker cereal not special K. Although I love special k
and I do use it once in a while for that special purpose of losing
weight I find that quaker cereal low cal is the one that has helped me
lose 50 pounds I eat it as a snack and I eat it for breakfast
everyday. I eat a lot of soup because that is the easiest way to lose
weight walking riding a bike anything you can do to help yourself lose
the weight. It is all about taking off calories and the only way to do
that is to work out on a bike or something that helps calories burn.
you can not think that eatting something is going to help you lose
weight because of the food you are eatting. It is about working out
and eatting low cal foods. I eat my breakfast of quaker cereal or
special k then work on my bike 15 minutes a day and I have lost 30
pounds and I am also 50 years old down to a size 8 it is hard work but
worth it in the long run. You will see try it cereal as a snack and
fruit and low cal foods and specially working out. It is the only way
to lose weight believe me. I hope I have helped somewhat. When you get
hundry eat soup it is the best for losing weight and so is the low cal
cereals that you eat and dont forget working out is the way. Gerri
Hi Gerri, When u eat soup what kind is good? Chicken? Also I have
heard that steal cut old fashioned oat meal is good for fiber and
filling u up. I eat a lot of oatmeal and tuna fish. I only eat 3
small meals a day, and if i snack it is the 90 calorie special k bar.
I think u are right about the exercise, it is both diet and working
out, without working out it slows down the weight loss. Katie

VIVIEN, IT IS TRUE YOU MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO EAT IN THE MORNING TO GET YOUR
SELF MOTIVATED AND PUT ENERGY INTO YOUR BODY THEN WHEN YOU EAT YOU MUST WALK
ABOUT ONE MILE OR YOU CAN RIDE YOUR BIKE DO THE BIKE AFTER YOU EAT IT GIVES
YOU ENERGY FOR THE DAY, I EAT SOUPS FOR LUNCH THAT IS LOW CAL SNACKS ARE ALL LOW
CAL AND EATTING FRUIT IS A MUST IN THIS DIET, HAVE A LIGHT DINNER STAY AWAY FROM
THE RED MEATS WHEN YOU DO EAT RED MEAT THINK TO YOURSELF IF I EAT A LOT OF FOOD
I WILL ONLY GET BIGGER SO HAVE SMALL PORTIONS NOT BIG ONES. KEEP YOURSELF BUSY
ALL THE TIME, DONT THINK ABOUT WEIGHT THINK ABOUT LOSING THAT WEIGHT. CEREAL
LIKE OATMEALS ARE THE LOWEST IN CALORIES ANDYTHING LOW IN CALORIES. EVEN WHEN
YOU SNACK. DONT EAT LATE AT NIGHT UNLES IT IS A PEICE OF FRUIT OR SOMETHING LIKE
THAT. I WEIGHTEDD 170 AT THE BEGINNING OF SUMMER I AM DOWN TO 145 THAT IS A LOT
OF WEIGHT OFF AND I AM A SIZE 8 AGAIN, I NEVER THOUGHT I COULD DO IT BUT I DID
AND I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER ABOUT ME AGAIN. ITS ABOUT LOW CAL FOODS AND LOTS OF
EXERCIZING SO RIDE THAT BIKE DUST IT OF AND GET ON IT AND WATCH A PROGRAM ON TV
OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT IT ACTUALLY WILL WORK AND THE WEIGHT WILL JUST PEAL OFF
DONT OVER EAT
EAT GRAPES TO FILL YOUR CRAVING FOR FOOD IT HELPS ME ALL DAY LONG I GRAB A FEW
AND A DRINK AND MOVE ON. GOOD LUCK TO YOU LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING ON YOUR
DIET AND HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU ARE LOSING IT REALLY DOES WORK. I FEEL GREAT. GOOD
LUCK MY DEAR. YOU KNOW I AM 50 YEARS OLD NOW SO I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO GET THE
WEIGHT OFF IT IS ALL ABOUT YOURSELF AND HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT TAKING THAT WEIGHT
OFF AS YOU KNOW IT IS NOT GOOD TO BE WITH WEIGHT AT A AGE LIKE I AM AT. TAKE
CARE KEEP TRYING OOD LUCK...

Next time your husband offers you a donut offer him a bowl or some oatmeal you
made make some flavors in it like cinnomon or flavores you make up. Our bodys
can live with a 2000 CALORIE DIET. NO Donuts ever... Stop him from that tell
him if he wants donuts go to a courner store eat them in front of a mirror they
are bad for our hearts all that fat. Ouch. Good luck my friend from special K

I just found this group a few minutes ago. I LOVE cereal and read about the the
Special K diet on the box but never followed up on it. I currently weigh 184
lbs. and want to get down to 140, but I'll be thrilled to get back down to 160
at this point. I have been overweight since my youngest son was born 20 years
ago (yikes)! Before I got pregnant with him my weight stayed between 140-148,
which was fine for my build and I had been at that weight for over 8 years,
after my 3rd child was born. But my metabolism changed and I've never been able
to get under 160. Between my 2nd & 3rd kids I actually weighed between 125 & 130
lbs. for 4 years and I'm 5'10". That was my teenage weight.
I'm not a big breakfast eater and usually eat cereal. That also includes other
carbs and that's been my downfall. I look forward to trying this and hopefully
overcome this weight challenge. Maybe if she sees results my daughter may try
this. She weighs about 210 lbs. and even though she is 5'11" and exercises a
lot, that is still too much weight for her.
