Hi Char my name is Cindy. I live in NC, and I would love to have someone to chat
with while going through this ordeal. I need to lose over a hundred pounds.
i am very blessed, tom supports me for most things. as always no one can always agree on everything that is when comprimise is necessary. in fact tom has encouraged me in many things., things that i wasn't sure i could do. i do the same for him.

Bart,
Maybe, and I am not Felicia, but reading her
post, I believe (and I could be wrong) that what she means is no support outside this group. I have very little support from my husband, even though he needs to lose more than me. But he does travel for work, so sticking on a diet is hard for him (his excuses-business dinners, late meetings, blah blah blah).
So we just need to give Felicia the love and support this group can give. I understand her frustration.
Stay strong Felicia! We are here for you!

I read the new posts on the board every
morning, as I am sure many others do. If you need help, just reach out on the board and someone will be there for you.
I've been on the plan and visiting the board since January, everyone here has been great and I have had a lot of success. I could not be more pleased with my weight loss of 23 pounds and the knowledge that the good people on this board have supported me the entire time.
Get on the plan, stick with the plan, loose the weight. We're all here pulling for you.
Stay strong.

Hello All,
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I had fallen off the exercise wagon despite my best intentions. Well, this
weekend there was a sea change in the exercise department for me.
While shopping at Toys R Us, I spotted one of those trailers you tow behind your bicycle to give the kids rides. We've wanted one of them so I could take my daughter Veronica out with me when I bike. the thing was marked way down because the box was all beat up, so we bought it.
My little girl loved the idea of riding along with me, and made it clear that she needed a ride on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although the rides were on the short side, I was out and about and pedaling.
Then on Saturday we bought a swing set which required assembly, and being handy and all...well you get the picture. Then on Sunday, I went out to the garage to wake the riding mower from its winter nap only to find that there were some mechanical issues that will need tending to before I can use it. So, out came the push mower and a couple of hours worth of
work...or exercise, it depends on how you look at it.
With all that running and doing, pedaling and mowing I am now down to 136 pounds as of this morning. I feel like I went over Niagara Falls in a barrel but I am an achy 136 pounder so I'll take my lumps.
I am still on the plan in a big way. On Friday and Saturday I had my large meal for lunch instead of dinner which I think helps.

when i first joined the group, thank you for allowing me to be a part
of this group. i had a question, what exactly is the special k diet,
what is envolved in this diet? it can't be just cereal. please tell me
about this diet.
yes there are a few good men out there who do support their wives and visa versa. the men that do support their girl friends or wives are the ones who finally grew up and saw the light.like everyone we all have to go through stages in life. some people grow up faster than others, and some never grow up. i know i am blessed with tom we had to grow with each other like any other couple, and we work well together. some men or women aren't so lucky, and i pray for those who are in a situation. it pains me when i see a spouse or child abused either verbally or physically. i can tell you are a decent guy bart. don't mean to offend the good men or women.

Hi!! My name is Farrah Dawn, I'm 19 and live in Roy Utah. My goal is
to lose 15 lbs before July.
Hello my name is Jean,29. I'm a bride to be, and a mother of 4 girls. I
work a full time job. I really try to do the healthy way but doesn't
always work out. Right now I way 176 lbs. And want to lose about 25-30.
I have 6mths before my wedding. I know I can get it together before
then. And my 30th birthday is also coming up before my wedding day.
Just want everything to be perfect.
I think that losing 15 pounds by July is doable. It's more than I am
hoping for, but I eat really well at night. If you stick to a good
portion control all day and exercise, I think you can do it. I am
also a mother of 3. It seems like the weight is harder to get rid of
after the third child. :-)
Keep everyone posted on your progress.

drink soda since Jan of 2007 and I dont feel addict at all. I will
find out what is my weight now at the gym but I hope it hasnt gained
on my weight.
Anyway, my name is Shanna and married to my husband Shane for almost
7 years. I am a stay at home mom to two daughters who are 6 and 4.
We live in McKinney Texas.
Terri,

Hello My name is Christine I am 38 and have gained alot of weight in
the past 2 years. I am weighing in at 184 and I am 5'8. I want to
loose 30to 35 lbs by summer. This looks like a good way to do it
too. I hope to get encouraged through this and make my goal. Thanks
My name is Evelyn and I'm a single mother of a 5 yr old daughter. I'm
active duty and I'm looking for a buddy in Oahu, preferably in Honolulu
or Pearl City area, but I'm not picky. I'm currently trying to lose 20
lbs.
Dawn,
I hear you. It is very sad to hear about all the folks on the board
that have little or no support from their families. Worse yet, I am
sure that some people are criticized about trying to get healthy.
Hurting the people you are supposed to love is something I'll never
fully understand.
I don't make excuses for cheating on my diet, but rather, I make
excuses for staying on it. If I know I'm going to my mother-in-laws
house, I have a snack bar for breakfast and then when I get there,
all that food doesn't wreck my progress. Of course, the family all
understands what I am doing and supports it so...
People ask me to go out to lunch, or have a piece of cake for a party
or some other thing that will set me back, I just tell them my diet
is restricted and thank them for the offer. By and large folks are
cool with that "excuse" even if they don't totally get how I could
say no to cake. Sometimes I don't know how I do it either.
I guess sometimes we have to be islands in order to do what we know
is right for us. Not everyone is going to support us and sometimes,
people are going to try to bring us down to make themselves feel
better about their own failures. Well, I think if you don't allow
other people's problems to become your problem you'll come out ahead.
When your husband, or Felicia's family or anybody else's significant
others see how much better we look and how much better we all feel
now that we have changed our ways at the kitchen table, they'll just
have to get on board.
Stay Strong,
Bart

Hello! I'm new here and I really want to find out how to QUICKLY
flatten and tone my stomach. I've been exercising regularly for maybe
about a month, I've been doing weight training, cardio, reading every
fitness magazine for women and I AM seeing myself look slimmer, but I
wish that my stomach would flatten as fast as the rest of my body is
re-shaping! Does anyone here know how to go about that? Thank you! ; )

HI! I am Jermeika and I'm a newly wed from Mississippi. My goals are
to obviously lose weight, lower my cholesterol, lower my resting heart
rate, and feel better about myself. This program is affordable and a
great kick-off to a healthy start! I'm very excited. Today is my
first day and I've already enjoyed my first bowl of special k and a
snack bar. Good luck to everyone out there!
Hi All!
I want to lose a few pounds to 'boost my ego', and I figured this
challenge would be the healthiest approach. I'll be posting to offer
support to others and to give some updates about my experiences with
the challenge.
Feel free to send me an email :)
