Hi Taryn,

I am also new here and have 40 more pounds to lose. I started my diet back in
March of 2007 when I weighed about 451 pounds and became a type 2 diabetic. I
was told about the portion plate and I stuck to it and pounds started coming off
like crazy. I did alot of walking at first and when I lost the first 100 pounds
I got into other exercise. The trick is that you eat six small meals a day and
exercise too. Since then I have dropped 287 pounds and feeling great and
looking great too. I am also taking a pill for depression and it also curves my
hunger so I don't eat alot. If you have the determination then you can lose the
qweight and keep it off, I am.

I am trying myself to lose 10 pounds and it is hard cutting out food that you
like to eat. You just have to make up your mind that you are going to lose some
weight. You have to stop eating the things with a lot of sugar in them. I suffer
from anxiety also. I belong to a gym and doing exercise helps. Good luck to you
in losing weight. You can do it!!

Hi. Honestly to loose weight take time, patience and effort. I'm
battleling with sort of the same problem. I'm 41 yrs. so is taking me
longer to loose weight than when I was 35yr. But I'm not giving up,
persistance is the key. Focus on your goal. You need a good diet and
exercises. Any activity from spring cleaning concidere it a benefitial
work out. And don't weight yourself too much give yourself at least
3mths to see any changes then weight yourself. Cut down on your starchy
foods, rice, spaghetti, bread, chips with salsa I know they are
addictive. Eat 6 small meals lots of fruits, vegetables soups w/
cabbage, and if you want to eat any chicken choose the white meat, tuna
on water check the sodium level find the lowest one, you don't want to
retain water. On your salads don't use regular dressings try this one.
Pour on your lettuce and tomatoes, mashrooms, cucumbers etc with olive
oil, red or white vinager, salt and pepper. * becareful with the salt,
just enought for the taste, if it burns your tongue that's way too much.
Exercise , join the gym or walk around the neighborhood , if you have a
bike this is the time to use it, is not hard on your legs and it's fun
specially around the beach and parks, do it at least for an hour if you
can do it more even better. Good luck. Let me know in 3mths how it
went, who knows if you put alot of effort you might loose it faster,
we'll see, let me know, and hang in there I believe if you really want
something that bad you can do it.

Hi Taryn,

I'm new here too. I'm 27, with about 20-30 pounds to lose. I started my
weight-loss journey seriously around March of this year, and I've managed to
keep 5lbs off. It doesn't seem like much but I've never really been able to keep
any weight off till now. I would say try to incorporate diets and excercise
which you enjoy and are comfortable with. Make it a part of your lifestyle so
that six months after you've lost weight, you don't revert to your old habits.

Good luck
~Aisha~

thank you all for all great tips on what to eat, what not to. i think that is
the secret to weight loss, slow, subsitute this for that., steady. drink water,
exercize daily, if only for 10 minutes. last week someone told me to exercize
during the commercial breaks from tv, touch your toes, do some bends, stretch.
do something. keep active, talk to others for support. all simple ideas, but you
have to implement them. diane

Hi,

I'm a Newbie, as of today, and I belong to WeightWatchers and now a Life Time
member, which means you don't pay a fee if you weigh in monthly at your goal
weight or 2lbs less or over.

This has been a terrible struggle for me as I'm not young anymore, so metabolism
not too great. Walk 45 mins. every day, line dance once a week. However, come
September will be dancing 4-5 times a week. My companion and I, line dance,
square dance, round dance and social dance, and all I can do is maintain my
weight (129 lbs) and that's because when I get home in the evening I get into
the eating. Would like very much to stay at 125 but just can't seem to get
there.

"The only way to a truly healthy way"--- Indeed count your calaries,
try and drink a cup of water 20 minutes before eating.

Go on the net and find "Fat burning spices" Cinnamon and Cayenne Pepper are the
two I use. I'll try anything.

I just eat too much for the size of my frame. 5 feet tall.

Hope this helps.

too much, it should be 200, but mine was 230. i stopped using butter, (l love
