I would think it's perfectly fine to 'pig out' on holidays if you keep your diet

haha I totally bombed on Thanksgiving :-( And I justify it by saying
that my 81yr old grandmother only makes her almighty homemade stuffing once a

Congrats on the success so far!!  The holidays are bad for me too
because I can't shake this mentality of..well I only get this food once
a year, so why not splurge a little? But then afterwards when I'm
sprawled out on my Grandmother's couch ready to explode..I obviously
feel guilty and extremely FAT.  I ate a little too much on Thanksgiving
so hopefully Christmas will go better.  Good luck with your holidays!

I just tried the Special K waffles with berries and they were really
good!!  I drizzled a little honey over them since honey is good for you
and has antioxidants in it versus regular ol syrup.  So yeah, if anyone
was wondering about trying them or if you want to switch up your
breakfast every once in a while try these!  They're awesome!

I agree that it is ok to let go for special days as long as you start
back up fresh the next day.  We are trying to change our lives, we do
not want to set our selves up for failure.  No one can go on forever
eating only the best food choices.  This is hard enough with out
adding more stress for ourselves.  I think if we do try to be perfect,
which no one is, we will set our selves up for trouble in the future.
  So I am glad you enjoyed your grand mothers stuffing Daniella and Amy
I agree that it is ok to eat what we choose on special days.

You know what? You two were not alone I made dressing and ate some of it too!!!
Did I eat the whole pan no but I had some did it affect my weight nope I am
still the same weight I have only dropped the seven pounds. Did I hit the
dessert table I can honestly say I did not.
Girls we are changing our lives and I refuse to give everything up so if it is
for special occasions have some and get back on the dieting boat afterwards.

We try to encourage each other to achieve their goals and offer advice if
needed. Good luck with your goal.
 I have lost weight since joining this group sadly not where I wanted to lose it
at but with everyone's help I know that I will achieve my goal. We don't put
anyone down for falling off for a day we encourage them to start over and a lot
of us here are emotional eaters. I tend not to eat if I am upset or stressed and
I have reached that point this week. So good luck to ou and if you need an
encouraging word just shout

I have to be careful this month. Last month I had to update my food stamps which
took almost the whole month to do. Grrr... but anyway last night my food stamps
came in for last month and this month. We have twice the food stamps to splurge
on for Christmas but I don't want to ruin my progress. We are planning on moving
back to Maine in the spring once we fix our van so we feel safe in traveling
that far. I want to look good when I see my family. My father came to visit in
October and has been helping us a lot to get a better place to live until we
figure out our next move. I've been trying different ways to exercise, I don't
want to be fat when I see my family again.. Good luck!

I am a 54 year old woman who is gradually gaining more and more weight.
I am willing to do the special k challenge. Any weight loss would jump
start my lack of motivation.
Any baby boomers out there with the same problem?
I am going to be brave and get on the scale in the morning and start
this program. My jeans are all too tight and I refuse to go another
size larger. It seems as though it's all going to the waist now.

Well how is your day so far? Mine I guess Is alright been a busy morning at the
office so I have not had a chance to even think if I was hungry. So I haven't
snacked. GO ME!!!
I did run yesterday not the mile or so I should have. But I guess a little is
better than none. I will do better today than I did yesterday. And last night I
was watching the biggest loser and the girl had a really good moto that they
taught her Change yourself starting today not tomorrow so lets Change our lives
today Not wait till tomorrow!!!!

I am 53 years old and it seems very hard to lose any weight.  I am
starting the Special K Challenge along with my girls today.  My oldest
daughter is getting married in October so I hope I am down by then.
Also, I need to lose weight for my knees and to be healthier and also
to fit into my clothes.

I was watching.... Wait first let me say this Welcome to the group.. Now I was
watching Racheal Ray the other day and a teenager was on there who had lost a
tremondous amount of weight by walking or running every day for an hour through
the show and she changed her eating habits. I thought that this might inspire
you as it did me. It took her almost a year to lose the weight but so far she
has kept it off. They say the slower you lose the weihgt the more likely it is
you will keep it off. I have not weighed again since I found out before
Thanksgiving I had managed to lose 7 pounds in six weeks roughly to see if I
have lost any more weight but make sure you at least do something to get your
heart rate up everyday for a few minutes. I know that I personally have been
slacking since it has gotten colder. So Good Luck to you. If you need an

I am starting to wonder if I am meant to be obese. I have all good intentions to
exercise and eat right. But it only lasts for a little bit. Then something
happens and I make excuses and then something happens and I do my emotional
eating. I am so tired of going back and forth I am wondering if I should just
concentrate on accepting myself the way I am. Besides even when I was really
trying to stick to a diet and whatnot I only would lose about five pounds and
could easily gain it back. Obesity is common in my family. Both my mother and
grandmother are. I guess I should just start to accept that this is who I am.

I can't imagine running. I work all night and it puts enough stress on my knees.
I ride my stationary bike but it does not seem like its enough of a work-out.
Does anyone else have any ideas?

hi don do not be desprate you can do it you can lose this weight just
try many ways and i know you know this but i wll tell you about again
try not to be nervise and be quit as possible . and try and do not
eat too much also sleep well and not for long time and do any thing
you want by your self so you will move alot and do not do that
because you have to do it because you need it and you want it
