Hi Hilda, and welcome! 50 pounds in two months is an ambitious goal.
In order to achieve that in a healthy way, you will need to add a lot
of exercise along with the diet. I hope you'll find some of the
exercise tips here helpful, and we'll support you along the way.

Hi Everyone:

I did the Special K diet about 6 years ago and I lost 15 lbs., which
put me really close to my pre-pregnancy weight. Since then, I've put
on 40 lbs. because I sit all day at my job, don't eat as well as I
should and I hardly ever exercise anymore. This is all my own doing
and I can force myself to make the time to exercise, I just don't do
it. I turned 39 a few weeks ago and I've given myself a goal to lose
40 lbs. for my 40th birthday. I've tried many, many plans....slim
fast, WW, Alli and yes, they all worked for me, but I like the fact
that Special K is a pretty simple plan.

Good luck to all of us here!

I am in a similar situation. I like cereal for breakfast, but I signed up for
this group for the suppport, not necessarily doing the Special K diet {gee, I
hope that doesn't get me kicked out LOL). For example, for lunch today, I took a
large piece of Romaine lettuce, a laid a piece of lunchmeat and cheese over it.
I added just the lightest coat of Ranch dressing (less than 1/2 tsp.) and a few
drops of olive oil and vinegar, to keep it from being dry. Rolled it up and it
is delicious.

Here is my protein ball recipes. I have two. My kids and I prefer the
first recipe, where a friend of mine loves the second one. So I guess
which ever you prefer, they are both high in prtein:)
1cup peanut butter
1cup protein pwder
1cup oatmeal (not instant)
6 packets of sweetner (I prefer honey)
mix all up and roll into balls and refriderate. YOu can roll in
crushed peanuts if you would like as well.

Second recipe:
3 Tbsp. nut butter

2 Tbsp. protein powder (not soy)

3 oz softened cream cheese

2 Tbsp. Raw unheated honey

½ cup unsweetened, shredded coconut

1 Tbsp. sesame seeds

2 Tbsp. chopped nuts

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together except nuts. Roll 1 Tbsp. mixture into
ball between palms, then roll in nuts. Refrigerate. Makes 10-12
balls. (I just mix it all together and don't worry about rolling
into ball. I eat with a spoon out of the bowl J )

Approx. 4.5 grams carbohydrates each ball

Approx. 4.5 grams protein each ball.

We have had some success with weight Watchers.  Hubby has lost 21 pounds and
I've lost 12 on it.  Neither of us exercise at all.  We've been faithful to the
food choices (counting points).  I'm down to a Size 10 (from a 14) and hubby is

hot low fat noodle soup for lunch on different days.

drink lots of water between meals and I also make my own protein balls for a

I just started the special k diet, but I have put my own thought into
it. I am like you and would like an actual meal instead of a bar or
bowl od cereal. I am not a big cereal eater at all so just having it
for breakfast is a chore. So what I do is eat the cereal for breakfast,
drink lots of water between meals and I also make my own protein balls
for a snack and then for lunch I try to make a smaller meal that is
full of protien. I eat eggs, or today I had a slice of whole wheat
bread, turkey deli meat and a couple slices of chedder cheese all
stacked on top of eachother like a sandwhich and ate it with a fork. It
took me longer to eat so I was full when I was done and it was a pretty
healthy meal without totally pigging out:) Which I am so prone to do! I
have not been on the diet long at all but I do feel better, not so
whalish. HA!
I hope this helps. I know it is frustrating to feel hungry all day. If
you would like the protien ball recipe just let me know. Or you can
google it and there are a bunch of protein ball recipes online. Good
luck!

Hi, I read your post, Its hard to find a diet plan out there to work in our best
interest, I love cereal, could eat it all day really.  So when i saw the
challenge, I was up for it.  Maybe  you could swap out a bowl of oatmeal in the
morning instead of cereal or hot low fat noodle soup for lunch on different
days.  Being on a plan or diet means having to change our bad habits for good
and that means we have to reconstruct.  It's hard. but, it's do able.  I didn't
get into this situation because of my good eating habits.  Its a change that I
am committed to because I want to be healthy.
Keep up on the plan.  I've lost 8 pounds. I feel good.  I have 32 more to go.
Exercise is important as well.    GOOD Luck.  -e

Hi,
I'm an active senior, still working full-time. I want to lose 55 lbs
but wanting to be healthier is the motive that is getting me started.
The most difficult part for me is exercise. After working all day
with a long to and from commute to work, I'm pooped when I get home.
Giving up starches is also a challenge but I'm going to do this!

the way i feel. everytime i mention losing weight or being on a diet they tell

not big. But at my heaviest I was 250lbs so I have come a long way since then.
but even at 140 and after three kids I dont feel sexy or confident. I feel ok in
