Jim- The Pam is used for the lecithin that is in it. It binds the powders
making it a thicker shake. I DO AGREE that Pam will set the home on fire if you
spray by the stove. I spray in the sink. If you are talking about great grade
of protein, I was able to use rice protein but I get that from a chiropracter in
town and it is really expensive, Major problem good grade rice /whey protein are
not thickbut powdery like in the shakes

Laura, I am not sure I would be so motivated to add a spray of
Pam into a protein shake. The thought of adding anything oily other than flax
oil would, it seems to me, make that milk, liquid or powdered, get a little
yucky. If you check Pam out, you will find that in addition to oil, it also
has phosphated mono and diglycerides, dimethylpolysiloxan e and of course, some
type of propellant. Given they also recommend you not inhale the pam spray, or
spray it near flames (it will blow...and blow badly) - I think I will pass on
Pam.
