I am so THANKFUL to be able to chat with you all again! The past few
weeks of not being able to keep in touch with you all has seemed like
an eternity. Just checking in to make sure all your loved ones made
it hom for the holidays and that all went well with your visits form
family and friends! I was keeping you all in prayer for safe and
joyful holidays! I am hoping you all find many happy or happier
times this year than last. We have all had our burdens to bear and
trials to get thru, and maybe gone thru a box of Kleenex or two!
This year, I am going to go back to something that started at
Barbara's Women of Faith conferences to help keep me on the right
track for Daily Reminders of SPALSHES OF JOY in my personal life. In
Barbaras booth at the WOF conferences, she had blue stones (a couple
hundred pounds of them) in her booth for people to take free as a
reminder of splashes of joy in their lives. Since I have a large
country kitchen, and spend most of my time in there throughout the
day, I decided to put a jar filled with blue stones on the island in
the middle of my kitchen. I try to stay focused on the good things
in life, especially during a day that is particularly hard to get
thru. And when I can find something to be happy about, instead of
the sad or difficult thigs, I take out a stone and set it beside the
jar! At the end of the day, it is often interesting to see how many
stones I have removed from the jar. Those stones represent all the
Splashes of Joy I had that day! I hope that soon, the jar will be
empty by the end of each day! Often I pass the jar and find myself
being rather too stubborn to admit that I had a little joy! But it
never fails that I eventually find my way back over to the jar and
remove a stone again. I thought about putting a jar next to the blue
stone splashes. But this jar would be filled with black stones to
represent all the gloomie things in each day. I decided that black
stones were to negative, and I would rather concentrate on building
up my Joy and in doing so benefit those around me! When youre
feeling the gloomies, it sometimes helps immensely, to turn your
thoughts to the things in life that are good to help you get thru the
bad! If that doesnt work for you- you can always POST here!
