Locating Continuing Education Providers   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #98 of 242 |
I'm always on the lookout for continuing education classes. (My
insatiable thirst for knowledge won't let me rest!) However, I find
it incredibly frustrating trying to locate classes or workshops
beyond the few local schools and providers I already know about.

In an effort to alleviate this frustration, I purchased a domain name
and set up a very simple website dedicated to bringing CE providers
and participants together. My intention is to list the classes in a
calendar, as well as list providers, class descriptions, advanced
classes, and a wish list. The wish list would be a tool continuing
education providers could utilize to develop new classes based on
participants' interests.

Before I jump off into this full force, I thought I would approach
those of you here for your thoughts and perspectives on this
project. I'd love to know if I am reinventing the wheel and have
just overlooked this list somewhere else, or if it's a tool we could
all benefit from.

I've listed some initial questions here. Please feel free to add
additional thoughts and/or contact me directly. I am very interested
in ALL viewpoints.

Thanks in advance!
I appreciate your time and opinions.

Tracy

For those of you who are Continuing Education Providers:

How do you market?
Do you find you have the number of participants in your classes you
want?
Would you be interested in a regional or statewide listing that would
allow you to list all your classes for a nominal fee? If so, what
would you consider nominal?
Would you be interested in a list of topics continuing education
seekers are interested in?
Would you be interested in working with other providers to offer
multi-class events?

For those of you who are required to take continuing education hours:

Where do you look to find your next class or workshop?
Do you find it easy to locate all the classes you'd like to take?
Are there classes or workshops you'd like to see presented that you
haven't found yet?
What do you look for in a class?
