Subject: [EastTexasMassage] Rose Bill Passed
Dear friends,
The Rose Bill passed the senate as is (increase to 500 hours, elimination of practical, all exemptions remain the same). There will be no advisory board or committee to help develop the new curriculum, nor be a watchdog for other professions or individuals who try to pass legislation against us. The schools will need to find people qualified to teach kinesiology, pathology, first-aid and CPR (though the last two are often outsourced). As a CE provider, I will have to re-develop my courses. Other big news for us: Heather Muehr, Executive Director, DSHS Professional Licensing and Certification Unit is leaving for a new management position in the Environmental and Sanitation Licensing Group. Stay tuned…professional life is about to get interesting…
S ô¿ô
